ok its not under brendan but this sort of performance its good enough klopp sadly made his first and only hopefully his last big mistake , because newcastle are a very poor team and liverpool made them look great today . i disagree with your unqualified statements. There may well have been meltdown under Rodgers if that defeat had occurred after him being 3 years in charge, having spent hundreds of millions and on the back of similar results/poor performances. There would probably not have been meltdown under Rodgers if such a defeat had come after him only being 2 months in charge and having had no transfer windows to work with. It's not so much about the defeat, sickening and all as it was, it's more about the performance and the obvious underestimation of our opposition, resulting in all those changes from the team that hammered Southampton. That is a schoolboy error of management and it's unacceptable given the reported 5m per year salary. So yes we're allowed to be critical of that and indeed we should all be critical of it.

Of course we're allowed to be critical. The forum exists for us to air and exchange opinions - no issues with that. I'd suggest it's too early to be overly critical though. How many changes were there? Also, Benteke missed a good opportunity, as did Sturridge when put through perfectly by Allen and we had a good goal chalked off.

Surely you're not suggesting that that performance against a poor side is acceptable though Mighty? We we're so poor that we made them look half decent. It was a Shyte performance by both players and manager and there's no hiding from that, nor should we be trying to make excuses for such a dismal performance.

Nobody is hiding from that, but we already know that this squad has issues. Klopp is not a magician. He won't be able to turn limited players into world beaters. So until we get some better players some bad results are inevitable.

my point is not unqualified its relevant because it was poor and they can play better last wednesday proved that , klopp hopefully will learn from this and yes there will be blips but it wasnt good and he changed the team when he had no need too . I didn't say that your point was irrelevant. I referred to your statement and suggested things are not as black and white as your comments suggest. He needed to change the team for a start because Can was suspended. He also has to manage the team across all competitions and for the whole season.

Today just shows how much all of us take for granted some of our players. Without a Coutinho, Sturridge, Lallana or even a Henderson or Emre Can (although he has his flaws) we are a very ordinary team - nowhere near top 4 standard.
As soon as I saw the line-up I thought it would be an unconvincing 1-0 win.
What was Benteke suppose to do today? The ball was lumped up to him and no one got around him.
Coutinho unavailable, and we wouldn't have beaten City or Chelsea in my opinion. Sturridge doesn't play against Southampton and it would have been a much closer game.
A midfield of Lucas, Allen, Milner will not get top 4 never mind win the league.
