Yup!

And now they ended up wanting him for that price - but later (after 8 games) and after letting Rodgers and the committee spend over £ 90 M in the summer. What a move this ended up to be by FSG!

Might be so.

In that case maybe FSG needed to see how bad it would turn out before changing their minds and going all in for Rodgers - 8 games into the new season.

In that case we also have learned that FSG are still learning on their job. Very amateurish handling of the manager situation IMO! Rodgers was a dead man walking even before the last few games of last season, and after the Stoke game he should definitely have gone!

OK, we are where we are, but no more f*uckups now please FSG! Just add a few class players in each window for a year and a half or so, and we'll hopefully be good enough quality wise to compete again!

How to get rid of the dross we have stock piled up? Not a clue. Maybe a whole sale where we sell to the lowest bidder!? With the salaries these players are on I seriously doubt we will get rid of many of them regardless of how hard we try! Lex Joe Cole all over again!

I have to wholeheartedly agree Van. I said I think it will take Klopp the whole of his 3 year contract to move some of them on and I can see the losses on some of them being 80% !

The shambles made over recent transfers still belies belief.

Just an amataur move by fsg by keeping him past last season. 100m spent is a catastrophe. The sad thing is, even we can see it so why keep him and derail the club further for the new manager?

I think they would have sacked Rodgers if Klopp hsd accepted the job instead of taking some leave. Appointing Rodgers though was a major trial and error type of thing which didn't pay off, unfortunately for us.

He should of either gone in the summer or gave him a fair opportunity this season.

They did neither. I'm beginning to think that they gave him one last extra opportunity because the transfer committee had let him down so badly that FSG felt guilty.

I think you are right on that one. They pretty much had no balls and weren't ruthless enough in their decision making so they decided to roll the dice one more time which is a huge cock up and I feel will further delay the wait for champions league qualification until next season.

If only FSG had taken the decision in the summer. We have to wait 'till Jan now to try and find some plasters to see us through to the summer. It seems all the initial effect of having Klopp as a new manager is going to be wasted on another dead season and on some players who won't be part of the plans going forwards.

Rodgers has cost us some serious amount of time and money. If this was a western we'd be getting a posse together to go looking for him!

But that's a good thing. It means Klopp has time to see which players are worth keeping and it gives him time to give others a chance. He'll have had 4 months to properly see what the players can do.

The concern is that it will simply prove what many of us suspect. i.e. that not many, if any, of the players are worth keeping.... we won't be able to even give some of them away... and that we're essentially doomed !!!! grin
