Very early in his LFC career to be calling him an awful player.

Well his performances have been awful, and for the money he has to be rated at least disappointing at best. I think he has to be a committee signing as he bears all the hallmarks of it so far.

Bearing in mind he's a foreign player coming into the Premiership for the first time and his settling in period has been disrupted by injuries I'm prepared to give him some time and not write him off after so few starts?

I'd sooner have him in the team than persisting with someone like Adam Lallana who has done nothing to warrant a starting place despite costing £25mil!

Sakho 6.5 - solid, nice passes into midfield
Moreno 5 - awful set pieces, threat going forward
Can 5 - sloppy lacked quality, put a shift in though
Allen 5 - kept things ticking, little influence
Milner 6.5 - looked a threat, solid
Firmino 6 - glimpses, wasteful with his finishing
Ibe 7 - well taken goal, positive direct running with the ball
Benteke 5.5 - ball didn't seem to sit for him, still a presense

Lallana 6 - silly foul, added a bit of quality
Lucas
Skrtel

Klopp 7 - got the result they needed against a Rubin side that parked the bus for 75 minutes.

Thank you for reading.

Your "average" performance was a team completely in control struggling to hone the cutting edge that has been lacking all season. So I don't see it that way at all.

If you give Mignolet a 5.5 for dropping one cross and recovering, I'm surprised every other player isn't lower for their bad shooting. If every mistake cost you 4.5, then we'd be full of a team of zeros.

Migs got 6 from This is Anfield and 6.2 from the fans through the Echo, saying he did little to nothing wrong in a game he barely had anything to do. 6.5 seems like a score you start off with in a game, I'd give him that.

Clyne got 7 and 7.6. 7.5 seems reasonable.

Moreno got 6.5 and 6.9, I'd say anything less than a 6.5 would be unfair. He's somewhere between there and a 7 in my view.

Lovren got a 7 and 6.7, a 7 seems a fair reflection.

Sakho was our best defender in my eyes. He got an 8 and 7.5, I think he's somewhere between a 7.5 and an 8.

Can got a 6.5 and a 6.1. A 6.5 seems fair.

Allen got a 6.5 and a 6.4. I think he was somewhere between 6.5 and a 7.

Milner got a 5 and a 5.8. I think anything less than a 6 is a little harsh to be honest. He still did a lot of things right.

Ibe got an 8 and an 8.1. He was our best player. 8 seems fair on reflection.

Firmino? A 7 and 7.2. I think he is in amongst the low 7's to 7.5.

Benteke had an average game. I'd have given between a 6.5 and a 7. He got a 6.5 and 6.7.

Lallana got a 6 and 6.4. A 6.5 seems fair. There was clearly an "edge" missing, but it certainly wasn't easy on that pitch. On a better pitch, those scores would've have likely undersold the quality I believe they should have shown. A win is a win is a win though!

Yes agree with the first paragraph - your description is more accurate than mine.

An average game for me is about a 6. Mignolet was average because he had no opportunities to excel (no fault of his own). He made a potentially costly error through a lapse in concentration so I deducted .5.

I agree with you, Clyne did well.

Moreno's set pieces were really poor. His performance was probably worthy of a 6.5 minus the dreadful set pieces (=5.5ish).

Maybe I was a bit harsh on Can and Allen - a 6 each in my view. Both lack the ability to play a cutting pass.

Milner 6.5.

Firmino was in and out of the game. Can't help but think if Lallana put in that performance he would be criticised. 6.

Ibe did well but I think the expectation was lower for him which makes people rate his performance more favourably. 7/7.5.

Benteke 6ish.

Can people please stop calling me a wum, or words to that effect?. Can people not just give me a clean slate and not judge the thread on the creator before they've even read the contents of the thread?

I've stopped mentioning Brendan after the criticism I have received, yet people keep bringing him up to wind me up (which doesn't bother me one bit).

Maybe I was a bit harsh on our player ratings against Rubin and in the past I have gone overboard on posts about Brendan to counteract the extreme views against him that were too far in the other direction.

I was gutted when Brendan left but I am happy we've got a very good replacement in the form of the fantastic Klopp.
