Why the obsession with Illori?? Why are you and lots of others so sure he's what we need and good enough?

The only time I saw him play for Bordeaux, he was at fault for 2 goals and didn't look great at all.

I think it's called hope. Apparently if you don't have it you are dead...but then, your life should be depending on football. I think Faz's situation is close to that.

Either way it's a big enough shift when your career so far has been as an attacking winger.
I think the problem with Marko is that he got judged on his performances as a wing back and not a winger.

Liverpool is the only club where Lazar Markovic has played on the right, he had one or two cameo appearances on the left for us and looked much sharper on that side. At Benfica, he played down the left or just behind the striker just slightly to the left. He played down the left for his first club Partiyan Belgrade and he plays down the left when playing for Serbia. I never understood why he was used on the right for LFC. I banged on about it whilst he was here and still it makes no sense to me when he was much better down the left.

I only hope that Klopp can get the best out of him when he returns, until then, I hope he utilizes Sakho, Moreno, Ibe and the likes to their full potential and stops this trend of playing players out of position. I think even Joe Allen could come good under Klopp. I do fear for Lucas though as I don't think he has the pace for a Klopp midfield.

Sebastian Kehl did very well under Klopp at Dortmund and he is very similar to Lucas, although not as good in my opinion.

I must admit, I don't know much about Kehl, I'll have to take your word for it. I really like Lucas so I hope you are right. I think Lucas is really underrated.

I like Lucas as a squad player but I think we do need better central midfield players!
