Flames you remember all the negatives, yet you choose to forget the games where we hammered Arsenal and Everton at home and the other amazing results we had that season? Last season was $hite and whilst there were other contributing factors Rodgers also made stacks of mistakes; however, the season he gave us before bought him the time to try and put things right.
You only see negatives and with your attitude you'll never find the remotest satisfaction unless we are in the same position as Chelsea or Man City where we are consistently the best or alternatively if somehow very strangely you were in charge. It seems to be a very destructive mentality, what the hell would you do if you 'supported'a struggling lower league side? I appreciate a bit of realism and I don't go with some of usual knee jerk we're great or we're amazing reactions to games but you're a terrible kill joy, such a drain....sheesh it's like listening to Marvin the depressed robot from Hitch Hiker Guide to the Galaxy (showing my age with that reference).

we are in the same position as Chelsea or Man City where we are consistently the best but shouldn't this be what we are aiming for? I think we get over excited on here without realising just how are away we are from City and Chelsea. Have expectations been successfully managed by FSG? i'm starting to wonder. But i'll throw in some positivs for good measure. Benteke looks useful. Couthinio is finding the target a bit more. Time will tell on the defence but so far so good. (although i do have to say both those CB's are prone to disaster) , and i mean this sincerely, under different management i think we would be a better side than we are now. Rodgers is going to fall short of silverware again and we are a good enough club to be at least competing for it. We should be in the CL, it;s ridiculous that utd got back on their feet so quick compared to us and Arsenal, the original implosion team, pipped us to the post too. That's not good enough. Rodgers shoud have at least managed a shitty domestic cup by now.

Aiming for yes, but we are going to struggle to get there any time soon as we can't compete financially (wages or fees) and our start point it significantly below that standard. I know we have spent a lot under Rodgers but generally we can't bring in proven world class players like Chelsea or Man City while Man U jammed it last season after spending a huge amount on players which they could attract being an established champ league side. At this moment we are below that level; however, at least Rodgers has shown the potential to get us close to the top under his management. He deserves another go, and whilst i'd be tempted by Klopp being brought in if we struggle over the next 6 months there isn't anyone out there that could guarantee the immediate success that you seem to crave. We've been spoilt as Liverpool fans, especially the older ones amongst us, and as a result it's hard to accept our failings but regardless of that you have to enjoy the ups surely?? Otherwise it's pointless!!

Genuine progress to the top rung will only come for me if Rogers can get Benteke playing with Sturridge at the same time. If he can do that it will be a sight to behold.
Cautiously optimistic and happy for the manager and lads but very early days.

Playing both Benteke and Sturridge might mean a 2 man midfield and playing only Hendo and Milner might make us vulnerable defensively, this is what happened in Suarez, Sturridge time. I understood that playing Can, Leiva and Milner made our midfield more solid (couldn't watch the game), so it will probably depend on the opposition.

For the first time in a long time, we actually have some different players to use against different opposition.

I wonder whether we would be any better with Hendo in the side. I do think that, for a captain, his place in the team is remarkably open to debate. Would his mobility balance up for the reduced solidity? From Lucas, Milner, Can, who makes way when Hendo returns?

Can, who will become the go to impact sub, until he learns to play the DM role and Lucas is phased out.

We should have bought a top DM long time ago instead of so many wingers, Rodgers is still learning but defensively he looks to be getting better now.
