I didn't. I thought he was shitte!

I don't think anyone is really giving him too much stick. Not of the kind that Lucas used to get anyway. But he has to start producing on a more frequent basis to justify the price tag.

And there in lays the problem for me. If we hadn't paid so much for him I'm sure he'd get a bit more slack. It's not his fault as he didn't set his transfer fee. But when you go for that kind of money, you need to produce or you'll get some stick.

well one thing is certain he didnt deserve a 1 rating no player deserves 1 out of 10 and lallana ok was at his best but he wasnt 1 rating , liverpool ground a result out away from home suits me fine , as souey said on sky it takes as couple of games for all players to get up to speed and liverpool not fully fit new players new system win at a tough away game at stoke .

His price tag is not his fault. What he has to justify is his presence on the field of play.

I marked him as a 4 which wouldn't be far off his average performance of last season. I wonder if the best position for him maybe is coming on as a sub.

My reason for this is that he does have very quick feet which may be used to better effect later in the game. When he starts he continually fails to see games out. However it's still not the way we want to be using a £25m player.

Never mind that money. It's lost!

What we need to do now with the likes of Markovic and Lallana with their stupid price tags, is to manage and use them properly. Choose the right games for them to start in (Capital One Cup and/or easier PL games) and the right time in games to be subbed on (against tougher opponents).

Hopefully this will up their self confidence so we can get some use for our investment in them.

If BR persists in throwing them in at the deep end I'm afraid they are both bound to fail miserably. Think they are not that tough mentally, so they will have to be managed with a lot of afterthought from BR.

That very much describes what happens with Lallana, he shows a great touch, pulls off a trick which displays his quick feet and then someone bumps or eases him off the ball. He's fantastic technically but just seems to lack something physically to make an impact on games. He'd probably be great in Spain or anywhere but the Prem.

But he was great for Soton 2 years ago for a full season. How did he manage that?

Is this level of a club a step too far up for him? The same as it seemed to be for his bud Rickie?
