In summary:

*He says we have made too many changes - again
*Seems concerned about a lack of guidance/senior management at LFC in comparison to Spurs (our owners are never around)
* His objective at LFC was to trim wage bill and bring in youth

I agree. Although our team is probably better than last year. It's appalling that our squad gets overhauled every season. Signing 7-10 players every year is a joke.

A settled squad or team with 2/3 additions has gotta be better

Yep, 5 at most for me. I was hopeful of 4.
Too many new faces each summer. Think it's 30 signings in 3 years for Brendan now.

I don't know about that Faz but he raises a few interesting points and the one about the churn of players has already been discussed many times with very few examples of it ever working in the first season.

It's got to be a concern whoever raises it.

I don't think it's ideal but it was a forced move in my book because the players brought in were by and large so poor what other choice was there?

Agree with you about him in the main too and he will ever be stamped with the Carroll fiasco for me. That alone is enough.

There are a few things to pick from it I believe.

Firstly, he defends Utd this summer for signing players they needed. They lacked goals and top defenders... They haven't solved those issues, or signed a replacement for De Gea yet... That is clearly a lie.

Secondly, he mentions quotes of more than 3 can ruin what you've built...but Liverpool at the end of the season were clearly in need of improvements in the squad. If there is little belief in some players, enough that they weren't playing, then not replacing them is surely worse? Better to take a risk on players capable of stepping in, than relying on players you doubt can.

Thirdly, he clearly has defended the work of Spurs, despite a torrid season as well, and suggests they've done well, despite the fact they're selling a number of players that have contributed very well over the last couple of seasons.

Taking all that into account, he has clearly misjudged the difference between improving 3 men in the team, and more than that in the squad. Ferguson wouldn't sign more than 3 new starters every year. This year, we've signed Benteke, Clyne, Milner and Firmino for the first eleven. A problem of the clubs own making in having to sign Benteke (having not replaced Suarez last year), the other players are the three to improve the main team...

He clearly underthinks on most things and just has a go. A bit of clarity in his head would go a long way to realising the only point he has made is that we're signing a lot of players for the squad which CAN disrupt the team. If the team wasn't working under the proposed formation at the end of last year, then you have to change things.

Every season we essentially build a new team and wonder why we don't get anywhere.
