According to the Daily Express we will meet the 32.5million buyout clause for Benteke and sign him next week.
Kinda divided over this.

Well at least we won't be paying the £32.5 mil buyout clause.
That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

Ermmm according to the Daily Express we will.
Although if I was us I would offer 25million 7 days before the window closes and tell Villa we will meet the buyout clause if they do not accept that 25million on deadline day, hence preventing Villa signing a new striker and damaging the new season for Villa.
We have to develop a ruthless streak.

But we are bending over and getting our belly rubbed by Villa.
Now Sherwood may have told the world that Benteke buyout clause is 32.5million, but we should be blunt back and tell Villa the only way we will pay that buyout clause is on the final day of the window, and we will only pay it, if we have not signed another striker instead.
Then we should submit a 25million offer for Benteke and tell Villa it is valid until the last day of the window and if they want to sell for 25million to contact us and we will do a deal.
Benteke should also submit a transfer request and tell Villa the only club he will sign for is us.
Job done, Villa face the prospect of not selling and having a unhappy player.
Not selling for 25million and praying we offer 32.5 million on the last day of the window, which even if we do buggers up the transfer window for Villa.

A lesson in how to be ruthless Mr Ayre. This is not how expect LFC to behave. Put a value on the player and make the offer. if they don't accept and a deal can't be struck swiftly move on. Show respect to other clubs. Other clubs mat behave differently but this is LFC. We should be keeping higher standards.

If he wasn't a bit dodgy fineness wise, I'd be ok with it as he can be devastating on his day. My only worry about it is now our two first team strikers are sick notes waiting to happen, who do we turn to for goals if that transpires? Playing without strikers didn't do much for us last season!
