Supposedly all business so far doesn't hinge on Sterling but if he does leave then Markovic and Ibe should fight out for his role.
Good but not enough firepower there.

If Sturridge was fit a whole season I guarantee he would give you 25+ goals.
Henderson will score 8+
Coutinho will score 8+
Firmino will score 12+
Sterling (if playing from wide) will score 14+

Correct me if I'm wrong but that's 67 goals in 38 games between 5 players. That's a lot of firepower.

How can you guarantee Sturridge will give 25+ goal even if fit à whole season, he has never scored that many ever.

I wouldn't mind us not selling and plying him in the reserves

Are you nuts!? There are only 2 good solutions:

1) we keep him and play him in the first team
2) we sell him when city make their next offer and use the money to buy a striker

Your suggestion benefits nobody at all.

It may seem that way in the short term, but perhaps not in the long term.

I give credit to FSG in the way they refused to let Suarez go the first time it kicked off... and credit to Suarez for his attitude in the his final season. If Sterling shows similar professionalism then of course play him.

My suggestion for putting the price up and perhaps not selling is to deter others from seeing us as a soft touch... and the suggestion to play Sterling in the reserves is if his attitude isn't right, his performances levels are not up to the mark and if his agent keeps causing us trouble in the press. The only players anywhere near the match day squad should be committed professionals. Ideally that should also be the case for the pre-season stuff too but unfortunately due to Sterling, his agent and City our pre-season will be disrupted.

Your expectations have been managed by yourself. You are giving the impression that you have accepted that we are going to fail on the pitch and your more bothered about our pride.

So he's not a committed professional? He's become one of the brightest talents on the planet by doing as he pleases has he?

Are you serious? One of the brightest talents on the planet? Did you watch him play in the last third of the season? If you want to link his boots your problem, I'm not interested.

Pelligrino set the asking price for Sterling at 100million.
We are waiting for Man City to offer the value Pellegrino valued Sterling at.

26 goals from Firmino and Sterling, Sterling is an awful finisher and Firmino is an unknown quantity. Wishful thinking I'm afraid.

25+ from Sturridge, we will be lucky to get 25 games from him.

We still need an out and out striker.

According to espn, city no longer want sterling as they were put off by the price and will not up their bid so as it stands Sterling is staying. His plan backfiring on him. Shthead.

I think it's the worst case scenario for Sterling to stay at this point. A lot of money has been spent already this window, possibly what was the transfer kitty going into the summer (£30-40million on Firmino & Clyne alone). I think we still need a few players in and presumed that money would come from the sale of Sterling. We've already brought in Sterling's replacement which means we could go into the season weak up top again.
