You didn't want much of Sevilla, did you?
They brought him off tactically to hold leads and bring on a different type of player, not due to injuries or lack of fitness.
The guy will run through brick walls.


Admittedly, no I didn't, but to be taken off in the first half 10 times in 34 games either suggests some pretty crazy tactics from Sevilla (subbing your leading goalscorer midway through the 1st half), or some shocking fitness from Bacca.

Injury prone. We don't want to play the season wanting to get into the cl without 2 main strikers. Its very risky and the price is another put off too.

His injury record is not actually that bad. He's had 1 serious injury that meant he missed start of last season and end of the season before, which he seems to have fully recovered from now. Even still he has managed to play in most league games for Villa. 88/110 since he joined. For me its well worth it, he guarantees goals and thats what we need. He's absolutely battered us everytime he's played against us aswell so I'll be glad I won't have to watch the likes of Skrtel attempt to defend against him

you all know we are going to end up with Benteke right?i think we are making it obvious to villa that we are looking at other strikers in order for them to drop there price for Benteke.this will drag on for ages but finaly we will end up paying more than we should for a player who doesn't fit our system.

Absolutely agree on that. Top 4 would be worth that. And yes £25m should be the limit especially as we seem to be the only ones seriously in the frame for him.


But why would Villa sell for less than the £32.5m release clause. He kept them up last season

I think I'm right in saying he has 2 years left on his contract so they would probably get 15-20 million next summer (thats if he had a decent season at Villa). Randy Learner is in it for the money and wants out. He'll agree the sale, just trying to get as much as possible. I expect it will be 25 mill plus some add ons if qualify for champions league. Well worth doing that given the extra money if we qualify. I'm still not convinced Rodgers will get the best put of him but he scores a lot of goals and thats what we need. We wont get anyone better.

Why? There is a world out there full of strikers and the overpriced Heskey clone is all that we can find.

I'm just not buying that at all. He's that good there all just queuing up to sign him at £32 million.
