You've named pretty much the only two good players Spurs have signed and haven't paid well over the odds for!

They don't sign any better players than us and are at pretty much the same level as us in terms of managers, owners, stadium and players.

Some forum this is becoming. The number of absurd threads is itself becoming absurd. So what if West Ham are in London? So are Fulham and Crystal Palace. Next thing, Slaven Bilic will become the new Mourinho in a couple of years. All bulshit.

This my favourite thread in a long while.
It's so unbelievable that someone could think that West Ham are now overtaking Liverpool because of geography. If that's the case then should Man Utd be scared?

Personally I don't see the attraction of London. It's just awful. It's just 38million people squashed into a public toilet.

Players will choose London over Liverpool. It's gonna happen. But it will be a long while until they choose West Ham over Liverpool.

Unless you're Carroll or Downing.

Location is a factor but so is vision. Manchester is hardly the cosmopolitan capital of Europe but both clubs attract players because they have owners and managers who are not afraid to spend on players who are top quality. We spend on hopeful players. I would prefer us buy two 30 million pound players than five or six 10-15 million pounders. Rogers doesn't have the judgement or the balls sadly. If FSG wont spend then he should quit. Its his reputation that's going down the drain. Mourinho wouldn't hang around if he was being restricted by the management. That's my 2 penneth anyway!!!!

Consider West Ham, spanking new Stadium, attraction of London, a manager with a worldwide reputation as a player, and experience of managing all over Europe and internationally.

I give it a couple of seasons before West Ham overtake us.

Unless we get new owners.

i get what you're saying and the point you're trying to make. but its a bit farfetched don't you think? a possibility nonetheless but its all big "ifs" and "buts".

an argument could also be made that they could end up following newcastle. the fans ousted a manager they never favoured yet performed fairly well in pardew, yet when he left it all went to pot. a similar case could be made for west ham and their hatred for sam alladyce despite doing quite well at the club and being forced into playing completely different tactics than what he's used to

be interesting to see how they get on next season, it could go either way... or they finish in a very similar position

West Ham want to be a big club, much like Newcastle, Southampton etc. They all have good sized stadia, they all have their benefits and problems. You can spout pessimistic predictions that they'll overtake us, but there is a huge difference between respecting their ability to progress, and expecting we won't or move backwards.
