Is there any chance of top half I'm beginning to wonder? Looks like they've finally taken the mask off and revealing their true identity. Prepare for the fan revolt if as I now suspect we're going to sign nobody of any note at all. This could be the pivotal season in our long decline I fear, hope I'm wrong but it has all the hallmarks.

Excuse me??? have you NOT heard the ongoing rumours that we might be in for Teddy Bishop and Regan Poole!?!?

If signing him gives us more money to spend elsewhere I am all for it, but I am for it anyway!

Because any signing now that don't cost £20+ million they use to blame FSG for lacking ambition or Rodgers for failing to attract big names. Pathetic really. And even when they do splash the cash no one gives the players time to settle and they say we overpaid and slate the transfer committee. Can't win

It is not about the money spent on a said player - it is about the quality of the player, the need and where that player will fit into the system. The team is screaming the need for a commanding CM, DM, RB and GK plus a striker in that particular order. Mostly because with BR in charge the probability of a striker playing is less than likely. We lost Gerrard although he was declining and Allen is not the answer nor is Lucas. Manquilo has not had a look in, Flanagan is out injured long term, Johnson is off thanks be to Jezu and Jones left as well. The striker reserves are there for all to see and no one else is coming. It's Ings, Origi and Sturridge plus whoever of the rest we canot sell.

Manquillo didn't get a look in? He played regularly for the first third of the season and proved he wasn't up to the demands of premier league football - certainly not yet.

And to be honest it is cheaper to eliminate your weaknesses (not putting inexperienced players like Manquillo in the team) than to improve your strengths (bring in big name players).

No way! I'm not having that.
What is the main objective of a defender? To defend the goal, right? Manquillo was EXCELLENT in defence, especially for someone of his age.
In the modern game we want out fullbacks to maraud up the line, fair enough but this comes with confidence in playing regularly. First and foremost you want them to be solid defensively and out of Manquillo and Moreno if one had to be dropped on their displays it should definitely have been Moreno.

I'm no fan of FSG butI wouldn't be keen on giving Rodgers any more money to waste.

Only two options really. Back him financially to mount a proper challenge or fire him.

Agree Evans and EMP. No point fukking around as it'll only hurt them in the long run.

But until the window opens no one really knows what they're going to give him. I personally think he'll get what any other manager they might have hired would've got. How much that is I wouldn't have a clue.

There is a third option let him run down his contract reducing the amount to pay him off and back him to the bare minimum and then back the new manager to coincide with the new stand then market the club for sale

Yes and in doing this the club would lose all that would make it an attractive option for any buyer as we lose whatever decent players we have due to the lack of ambition the club is showing and eventually taking a huge loss for the sale.

We get 8th or lower before sacking him and not only do our players leave but so does the possibility of bringing in a proven manager or any proven players.

FSG don't want to lose money so it's not really an option.

Didn't he sign an extension last year? That's possibly a long time for them to ruin their investment. They might be tight fukkers but they ain't stupid!

They could market the club as one of the most famous names in football with a new stadium ish ! And on the cusp of greatness there is little incentive for them to move us any more forward than we are winning things will only have a marginal effect and will involve big investment they might not get back
