So you’ve declined the challenge Donut, and I don’t blame you. However it raises questions about the wisdom of your point about “almost any manager” Truth is if the policy doesn’t change the manager issue is irrelevant, including all those posts calling for a sacking.

Post was sent from a tablet, not going to thumb out a thousand word essay lol.

Truth is both our points are just opinions - climb down off your big old high horse herc, you migjt fall amd hurt yourself.

This is very true, more than just the manager needs to change.

Ideally but if the owners aren't going anywhere, we can at least ship the manager out for starters. To do nothing at all would be to give up completely.

How come people like Costa, Matic, Sanchez et al did not need any time to settle? It's about quality not settling time..

Give him time so that we can finished 8th next season. Sorry I have no faith in BR what so ever and if I have to live through another season of his stupid press conferences I will go mad.

There are world class manager free now so why not act and improve the management unless people want to get Garry monk or Eddie Howe next season as there will be no-one else available.

5th every season will suit them fine on current expenditure.

Ayer will work his branding deal magic a few more times I guess, and the TV money will make all the fancy charts look even better. Add to that a nice bit more from the corporate coin with completion of the new stand and we will be jumping to 5th or 6th club in the money league table very soon.

Only problem for me is the word football in the name of the club but hey I must be old fashioned. I thought it existed to win silver trophies. Silly me.

The best/richest clubs win the trophies. More-so than ever, we need to become richer in order to compete with the top clubs. So increasing our revenue is part of the plan towards winning more trophies, and should be seen as a step forward surely?

Besides, there are only 2 major trophies up for grabs in the EPL each year. That means 98% of the teams win nothing on a regular basis. Should they not bother to try and get richer in order to compete? How do you think fans of also-rans like West Ham and Newcastle feel every year?

They are getting richer off past glories and milking the fans with promise land Darcus.

They can spin that a little longer and then exit. If it was genuine then I'd agree with you. Forgive me for thinking otherwise.

FFS Klopp has told the press that he wants to join us, why don't FSG just tell rodgers to [oops] off and find a new club already.

Rodgers is early 40s so he hasn't had time to develop his reputation like the others. Its been FSG's policy not to buy high profile players and instead buy unproven ones with potential. Nothing to do with Rodgers.

You talk about players needing time to settle, yet aren't using the arguement that Kenny needed time for his new players to settle, players who just so happened to come good - Henderson, Suarez....Kenny reached 2 cup finals the season before Rodgers came in, winning 1 of them which enabled them to qualify for Europe. Kenny also lost Gerrard and Lucas for half a season, Suarez served a lengthy ban after Evra gate and there were a number of games which could have gone either way, we also had a record number of shots which hit the woodwork that season.

Clarke and Kenny have gone on record several times stating that they had big plans for the following season which unfortunately had to be scrapped and they said with the team they had, top 4 would have been very likely. Kenny had already agreed to sign Diame on a free, the club were already in talks with Sturridge (Rodgers cancelled talks when he arrived), Rasmus Elm had agreed an 8m move, FSG wanted Dempsey (Rodgers cancelled plans) Kenny had made a 16m offer for Gaston Ramirez.

Rodgers took over, scrapped all plans, signed Joe Allen and Borini for 25 million, told the world we were signing a very exciting player and it turned out to be Assaidi and after our worst start in over a century we finished 7th and were knocked out of cups early doors, was that progress?

Suarez finished 2nd the following season and now without him we finished 6th. So in total after Rodgers has spent over 200 million, we've won no trophies and gone up 2 places in the league in 3 years. Some progress that is, perhaps in another 3 years and another 200 million we might be 4th.
