Where did I say you said he was a tactical genius?

As lumbs said, we are probably both right but I doubt that makes either of us any happier when reviewing this season.

Yep it's been a shitter that's for sure, whether he stays or goes those FSG fukkers need to sort their shitte out or it'll be more of the same!

Your credit never lasts forever though.

That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

Of course not. But if he's here next season then so be it. He gets one last crack at it or it has to be goodbye.

I didn't say it was all him. I even acknowledged that BR contributed. did you not read that bit? I'm just saying that BRs contribution wasn't the most significant part of the success and, based on subsequent evidence, may have been more luck than design.

Maybe he did do something special. At the time we probably all thought so. But I'm suggesting that now that another whole season has passed and more evidence has been gathered things look different. If he was so good tactically last season why the total mess this season in the league and CL and the woeful cup semi-final? We also failed abysmally in the big games again even after discovering some form.

If he stays I hope he does achieve something special. But I'm just forming an opinion based on what I see in terms of performances and results and what I hear him say.

I look at this thread and all I can think is that, had we bought Lacazette (we looked at him, apparently) and one other top striker, we'd have seen the none of the problems we have now. We could have bought no other players at all, spent most of the money on strikers and we would have had a far better season. Apart from Balotelli, whose obvious frailty was always likely to rebound on us, we bought no recognised striker. It is very frustrating. Rodgers might be woeful but had we spent that money on strikers, they could have hidden his woefulness quite effectively - just as Suarez did.

It got me thinking, what have the Romans, i mean, Rodgers ever done for us?

Diick head won us nothing, lost us players, brought in weirdo's and made us into Swansea. He facilitated mediocrity, lied to fans and ha been a lapdog for the owners.

It'll be a quiet exit with nothing to thank him for.

Do you really think Rodgers is the main reason we lost players, brought in duds and are mediocre?

The main reason for it is the owners, there is no ambition and Rodgers knows if he challenges them, he'll be out the door in an instant

If Klopp or Benitez came in now, they might have a short term impact in terms of results but it would inevitably end up the same way as it is now unless the owners change their stance and ambition

The reason we lost ONE player is because we are not a big side and havent been for a great many years. Even at our peak we lost players to some clubs in Europe.

The reason we haven't brought in top players and are considered a dwindling club is because of the owners.

The reason we are medicore and have brought in duds IS because of Brendan Rodgers.

Let's deal with it gents. We are no longer the side we used to be. We will struggle every year and all our best players will depart for championship challenging sides.

We will get lucky at times but that's about it.

Evidence before and since then seems to suggest that it was a fluke... or at least that his had less to do with Rodgers and more to do with Luis Suarez.

By that reckoning the poor season we've just had was a fluke then.

You may be right, it could be a blip. We'll find out next season if BR is still there. But I suspect it's not. It could simply be a case of a manager being as good as the quality of the players he has to work with.

You mean the quality players he bought.

Yes Sixty, but the questions remain has he got the best out of the side and the best value for £200 million quid?

I'd think anyone that isn't blinded or a mate of the man would have a hard time saying yes to either question.

I will hate it if he goes, because it points at failure of a Liverpool manager yet again, and all that usually entails, but it's no good shying away from it either and that is what they appear to be doing with the ripples coming out.

Klopp should be pursued like a Mourinho or they stick with Rogers and tear up their disastrous playbook and let him sign who he wants that we can get.

I fear neither will happen and we will be in a terrible position November time and really a club in crisis rather than just half way there.

Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.
