We know that most are no loss Wilks, what is highlighted is the resources that have gone into securing so many players in a completely failed transfer policy along with a staggering amount in wages and to top it off the fact that they aren't anywhere near good enough to see us progress.
How many players are the club going to need and find in just 2 months or so now for us to have any sort of squad depth next season?
How anyone cannot see the shambles we are in is frankly beyond me. I'm not saying the policy isn't a shambles. Just that none of them will be a great loss. And for the likes of Aspas, Alberto, Coates they weren't that expensive so we will get most of our money back (isn't Aspas off for £5m when we bought him for £7m?). As for how many we need to find? I'd say that we won't lose all those listed so if we got about 5 players we should be OK. But what we must do is make sure at least 2 of those are top quality and ready to improve the first 11 which is where we will no doubt fail for one reason or another.

Got this list from Talk Sport but they have 9 players who they think should or are gone.
This shows the churn that yet again needs to happen but it hardly speaks for any continuity or stability:
Mario Coates Jones Johnson Enrique Lambert Borini Alberto Aspas (gone)
You could possibly add Sterling to make it 10 and Gerrard going is 11. It just highlights the complete failure of our transfer policy the last few years and how many are going to be needed to come in.
You'd surely be hard pressed to argue with many of them listed and the real problems at this club. It's not as bad as you're making out. Only 5 of those players were BR signings and of those, only Mario could be considered a purchase intended for the first team. In a nutshell then...1 first teamer and 4 fringe player signings may be on their way out (IF talksport are uncharacteristically accurate). No big deal.

7 of those players played some part in this season, so if we're to compete in 4 competitions we need to replace all 7 players.
Yes, only 5 were BR's, but 4 out of the 5 were strikers.

Coates, Alberto and Aspas have been on loan and Lambert and Borini have hardly played so I don't see that losing those 5 will matter a jot. Could also add Enrique to that and Johnson is shitte now so no loss there either. Jones isn't good enough so again no loss and Mario will stay I think. I would say the point is most of those could have been not bought in favour of players who we wouldn't ship out on loan because they were so bad.

The op was talking about continuity and stability, so it's very much the point. We basically loose all our options (that's better than strikers) up front and start again.

According to Talk Sport they have cost £77 million collectively. None bar Mario are good enough (if he gets the chance he may come good next season) and all on the wage bill for nothing. There has been no return on them as punts. Not one. This is not about bashing Rogers it goes back further than that yet still under FSG.
So I beg to differ Darcus it is that bad. Players are meant to progress to the first team and with the lean and mean ethos we have under FSG the resources tied up in so many failing players is shocking and as others have highlighted, we could easily add a few more first teamers to that list as well.

If you buy 2nd rate and expect them to perform 1st rate, then this is what you get. It's not surprising actually.
