Bh We lack substantial assets to strip. I don't believe FSG are bad owners at all, they are just unable to compete with the likes of the Etihad lot or Roman (who can? Maybe three consortiums on Earth?) and are forced to shop for players in the second tier of talent.
Which is where BR, not FSG, can be justifiably criticised at times. Guys like Joe Allen, Mamadou Sakho, Ricky Lambert, and Dejan Lovren should never have been signed in the first place. Ridiculous sums paid for these and others who are nothing more than squad ballast. Worse still, BR has retained and deployed garbage quality such as Lucas Leiva.
But ultimately we must remember cash-obsessed footballers, manipulated by their agents, are always going to opt for £££s wherever possible. Don't blame FSG for being poorer than Arab sheikhs or Russian oil magnates. It's not the fault if John Henry he is neither richer or willing to invest more than our rivals but that does not help our predicament does it. As we are now this is as good as it's going to get modern football is about money and plenty of it

Since rogers has been manager....
He has removed all men, leaders, winners from the club.....why...
And surrounded himself with young players who won't question him as the manager & he brought kolo in thinking he is doing him a favour and kolo won't challenge him, wen rogers is wrong .....
Rogers is running low on BS and players have worked Rogers out and are know asking him to back up all the BS he has has fed them since he's been at the club

What are you spouting about now? The only real 'winner/leader' we've got rid of recently was Suarez. Gerrard was always going to go and has basically spat his dummy because he didn't get what he wanted. Carra before him was also slowing down so wasn't worth keeping and he wanted to retire. Apart from that there's no one.

What are you spouting about now? The only real 'winner/leader' we've got rid of recently was Suarez. Gerrard was always going to go and has basically spat his dummy because he didn't get what he wanted. Carra before him was also slowing down so wasn't worth keeping and he wanted to retire. Apart from that there's no one.

Yes, but why no leaders have been brought by Rodgers over almost 3 seasons and a gross spent of well above 200m, that's the question. I know you will tell me that there were restrictions and policies, but one of his responsibilities is to convince his bosses that he needs a spine of leaders to do well. Some people here portray Rogers as someone who is not allowed to take any decisions, but then he is a poor/weak manager or not a manager at all which is as bad. Looks like he doesn't have authority anywhere.

And I'd mention the restrictions because they're real.

To be quite honest - I hope they did have a fire and brimstone meeting and tore strips off each other. I'd be disappointed if they didn't.
As for losing Sterling and Hendo... trust me, there are far better players. There are indeed, though Sterling is a very hot prospect. But the more important issue is, we will not sign better players because 1. We won't pay big fees 2. We won't pay big wages 3. We have the worst transfer record in the PL because no one on our team especially the manager can identify good targets.
