because it's [oops] obvious. Why would they want Rodgers?

I've just had a look on a man city forum and this is what they have to say -

Rodgers - are you f*cking kidding me?..

He's a [oops] smarmy, egotistical c**t that preaches tippy tappy ticky taka chicken tikka football when if you actually watch Bottlepool his tactics are lump it forward and tell every outfield player to chase after it like a border collie.

Plus he's won [oops] all. Unless coming in 2nd to Pellegrini implies you can replace Pellegrini...

His overbearing and nauseating personality aside, I've seen nothing from Rodgers to suggest he is the managerial genius he seems to think he is. He's proven on numerous occasions to be tactically naive, but then again so has Pellegrini.
I think the current state of the rest of the Prem has more to do with Liverpool's position than any managerial brilliance.
Their current form has them where they are supposed to be, let's not forget what they have spent. Liverpool are performing at the level they are supposed to.
Rodgers deserves no praise for that.

Given the monies spent, they should be doing well.

3rd highest spenders in the Prem in the last 5 seasons

I am happy to confirm though that whether they finish top 4 or not he does remain an insufferable [oops].

I've always hated liverpool, but he's took it to another level. There's nothing worse than someone who thinks they're better than there actual ability. You'd expect his arrogance off a manager with an outstanding record over a number of years.

Their fans want Ancelotti, followed by Klopp, Guardiola, Rafa and Simeone. They don't want Rodgers, heck he wasn't even first choice for us. Beyond this club, football supporters can't stand Rodgers, it's only on LFC forums that people create this myth that Rodgers is a world class manager.

Funny that. I would have expected heaps of praise for him after they effectively lost the title last Sunday at the hands of LFC and Rodgers or the Brodge as Noel Gallagher called him. And they weren't unlucky either!

Yes they do get some good unknown players but they also buy ready made too. Atletico bought Mandzucic and that Greizman fella. Dortmund bought Aubamayang, Mikki and Imobile.

All those players were within our budget but we made a bid on only one of them, Mikhitarian. Rodgers has bought worse.

Yep, they've bought smart no doubt. But who's to say Rodgers wouldn't have if he was in full control??

Equally we don't know if Rodgers hasn't had a great deal of control over who he buys. But if we get into the realms of only talking about exactly what we know the only thing we will discuss is what league placing each team is currently at in any given weekend.

Absolutely. Not only that I can't see anything that would make people think City would want to get Rodgers. I'm not saying Rodgers has been bad, not at all, one great season, one possibly good season if he gets 4th this year, but he hasn't set the world alight (yet), he doesn't have the same buzz about him as their 2 most recent appointments, so I don't see anything that makes people think he fits the profile.

Sometimes this forum makes me shake my head in disbelief it really does.

Do you seriously think that Barcelona and Man City are creaming themselves over the thought of Brendan Rodgers, you know that man who has an atrocious European record, can't attract world class players, has never won a trophy in his whole coaching career....

Just this week, Diego Simeone said he would like to take over at Man City if Pellegrini is dismissed...that's who they have lined up to take over, not Brendan [oops] Rodgers.

Barcelona wouldn't touch him with a bargepole either.

If rodgers does leave, I can see him going to West Ham or a similar team.

Ha, ha I’m not surprised You have a shake in your head Spice, what with that bad case of dyslexia you’re obviously suffering from!
I never said "that Barcelona and Man City are creaming themselves over the thought of Brendan Rodgers” If you want to debate people’s views you must first learn to read and comprehend their views, but then comprehension wouldn’t be your strong point Spice, now would it?

I think plenty of top clubs will be looking at Rodgers. Nearly everything we like about the present LFC style - pressing, high energy, tempo etc can be largely attributed to BR's management. What's more, I think FSG have a transfer policy that inhibits us. If BR went to another club with loftier ambitions and deeper pockets, I think his management style would be at least as effective as it has been here. ManU have 'the great' LVG and I don't think they are better off. Who would arrive as a better manager than BR. Klopp wouldn't come here - and I don't want him. Ancelotti? Simeone? The best we could hope for, and I do think he is good, is Pochetino. Ideally, BR stays and we win something. Unless FSG sell us to someone with bottomless pockets, I don't seen anyone doing anything more than BR. Look at how Everton have fallen away. Some wanted Martinez but he has no record either.

But is profile important? We made Man City look very ordinary and they have more expensive players in every position. Their owners are bound to look at that. If I owned Man City, I'd look at Rodgers as a manager. We play great football and, without wishing to malign our players, I can't see it as being down to the inherent quality in the squad. Our midfield is hardly 'scary', on paper. Allen, Can, Hendo?
