Don't see anything previous to last week as important in context of game. City need to win. We look a mile off being competitive in Europe. The whole team needed a shake up that I'm doubtful BR has the gravitas to deliver. I don't see Sturridge or Sterling at Anfield next year. The midfield isn't good enough. I'd swap the Besiktas team for what we have all day long, from what I saw. They were stronger, technically better and more imaginative. It was a shocking wake up call. Whether Hendo's energy and Coutinho's guile can make a difference, I'm not sure - and seriously doubt. At a higher level, City have just been through a similar reality check at the hands of Barca - BUT they can look forward to doing something about in the summer as they have the resources. I don't know where we are headed but I think Sturridge and Sterling - neither of who are even really that good anyway (!) are looking beyond Anfield, judging by their commitment on Thursday.
