I don't think anyone is turning on gerrard. it doesn't matter if you're the club captain or a new kid on the block... we've got be fair. In this case, both behaved inappropriately.

Stevie obviously hates mario and not for no good reason i would imagine. can't believe people here are turning on stevie ,who has done so much for us, and backing an absolute toe rag. shocking And he told you he hustles him did he? More complete [oops] from you!

I understand Sturridge getting involved. He's becoming one of our senior players now and he seemed to be backing Hendo... telling Balo that he ought to listen to Hendo... and telling Hendo that he should be putting his foot down. In that sense, sturridge showed more captaincy material than Hendo who seemed to hesitate and have doubts. Hendo recovered well for his interview though.

Complete bollox. Danny's concern should be scoring and winning the game. He could have put Mario off - he put himself before the team. It's almost as if he didn't want Mario to score. I didn't say what he did was correct. I just said I understood where he was coming from. The problem stems from Hendo's lack of authority as captain... which in turn stems from BRs/FSGs failure to recruit top quality and be prepared for SGs departure.

I think Gerrard has been punished judging by BR's press conference today.
Mario was rightly backed by BR in the press conference, therefore BR has ignored Stevie G's version of events.
Punishment enough for Stevie G.
To add weight to that pictures of a smiling Mario in training are all over the official LFC site today.

He went on TV last night and his reaction to the Balotelli penalty was totally unnecessary, he has heaped pressure upon the team, players and manager.
1) Question marks over Hendersons ability to be captain.
2) Balotelli will be in the media sights for weeks now.
3) Caused friction between Mario and Sturridge which will linger
4) Revealed team tactics on TV.
Now if Gerrard no longer played for us it would be fine, but he is our club captain, surely he could have adopted the BR line and said it didn't matter as long as we won the game?
Why he was allowed to go and be a pundit is beyond me.
I note that when Mario was injured, we didn't see him going on TV and being a pundit.
On the same night he stated he wanted to be a manager, you have a lot to learn before AFC Liverpool would even make you manager Stevie old son. answer to the opening thread question is no. this is a sh1t thread
