I defy anyone to say they were bad signings.

Some players take longer to adjust, but thank god some of you are not on our transfer committee.

Plenty of you were saying that BR signings are crap.

And if we win something you will all be desperately trying to rewrite history, claiming you always had faith in BR and his signings.

Makes me truly laugh.

You do realise that half of those players were not signed by Rodgers don't you, so giving him credit for those signings is a bit desperate in my eyes.

In Rodgers 1st season, before the committee existed he spent his entire budget on Borini and Allen, had no funds left, so tried to ship Downing, Carroll, Henderson and a whole load of players out in order to sign more players, he made a mockery out of the club and talked down to players in public, not even giving them a chance, he tried to sign A.Pearce and A.McCarthy from Reading, tried to sign Vorm, Williams and Britton from Swansea and attempted to sign Sigurdsson - all were said to be blocked by FSG for various reasons.

FSG then created the transfer committee as our season was falling apart (worst start in over a century), FSG lost trust in BR in the transfer market. Coutinho came in after FSG were advised by Rafa to sign him from his club as a potentially world class signing, Sturridge was brought in after being extensively scouted for a few years by the club, was close to signing during both Kenny and Roys time here, but FSG felt the price wasn't quite right. He was always going to be bought no matter who was in charge.

During Rodgers 2nd season, the committee signed Alberto, Aspas, Ilori and Sakho, Rodger was desperate for a new goalkeeper so he could ship Reina out, who he had massively fallen out with, again he wanted Vorm, but settled on Mignolet, he also signed Toure and took Cissokho and Moses on loan as again, the budget was spent.

This season, the committee signed Can, Markovic, Origi, Moreno, Balotelli and Manquillo on a 2 year loan with first refusal. Rodgers signed Lambert, lovren and lallana.

Rodgers is crap at signing players, hence the need for a committee to sign players wo will benefit the club in the long run, none of Rodgers' signings have worked out, none fit the model of buying young and developing them.

As for Rodgers being such a good manager, we're currently sat in 7th in February, our season isn't going to change much, we will be lucky to finish 5th.

Last week Tom Werner came down and Rodgers buggered off to Italy, leaving Pascoe in charge, coincidence much. Werner gave a massive speech to the press outlining FSG's plans and also mentioned that they want a cup and top 4 this season.

If Rodgers doesn't achieve those aims, he's gone.

Hmmmmmm. Cant believe I just sat and read 8 pages on Allen and Balotelli. What a waste of time that was. Kinda like the players themselves. I missed "Escape to the country" for that!

After 4 pages of that I couldn't bare to read the rest.
Anyway, this is total knee-jerk and hypocrisy.
I've always been in Brendan's camp and will continue to be.
I believe our lapse in form and in poor team selection/system was down to Brendan not being all together emotionally after his divorce and his having difficult times off the pitch. Nothing to back this up, just my opinion.
That is the point though, everyone is entitled to their opinion and shouldn't apologise for it.

I still think Balotelli was a crap signing. He's earning 100k a week and has fairly often not even been a part of the match day squad. Not because of injuries etc, just because he doesn't fit and never did.

Brendan, for me, is a fantastic man manager and a tremendous coach, especially to the youth. He will, more often than not, get the absolute best out of any player at his disposal. I only have to point to Henderson, Sterling, Sturridge and even Suarez as my argument.
He's still naive though and it's noticeable in his decision making of match day squads and substitutions. He will Improve with time and could be a very very good manager. We should be patient with him, especially considering how well he did last season.

I'm not saying you're a liar but what proof do you have of this?

that's a really comprehensive and well put together argument. it would be great if you could add in your sources on this just so we know you haven't just plucked this out of your own arse and passed it off as fact. I beleive in you

by the way OP. Allen hasn't done it this season. anyone can have a good game (even andrea dossena). balotelli was been poor. sure he might be trying and he scored a goal recently but he needs to do more than that.

lastly, br is no idiot but he's not a genius either. I was hoping for 4th this season. I still think we can make it but in looking at th prep for this season....with Suarez wanting to go and sturridges injury record, br/fsg (take your pick) have been left with their jocks down. it was very shortsighted.

I honestly dont know why so many folks trade on here on such 'BR is god/devil' ends of the spectrum. shortsightedness and extreme points of view are very commonplace in this forum

exactly what most on here were like.. he had a crap first half of the season, and he has gone about fixing it .. thats all there is to it.
lots of factors make up the poor first half, injuries , poor signings ,the world cup and BR's kinda stood around like a statue until it got to sacking point. he is not a god nor is he the devil ur right. lets just hope we can scrap a CL place this year and go again
