true SA but we under rafa have just accumulated those who are not enuff capable to be a first teamer..

i've always thought vdv would be a good buy for us i was really suprised when he went to hamburg.
another player who we were linked with and has long been forgoten about is Aimar.he still looked a quality player when he played against us a few weeks back.

Carragher is one of the main culprits of our lack of passing from defense. A great defender he is but a hyypia or hansen he is not in terms of a football brain.

true, he needs an agger type alongside him ...... but it does come down to how he was trained - when he was coming through the midfield were expected to drop back and take the ball off the centre backs - my pet hate that is as it invites the opposition on to you and allows them to close down spaces ..... if a centre back can't play the ball 10 yards then he shouldn't be a professional footballer .... i used to get so frustrated watching jamie redknapp coming back to our half to collect the ball instead of making himself space in the opposition half

the whole team should be capable of passing emp - that is why liverpool ruled europe back then, every player was comfortable on the ball and could play a pass - if you only have alonso to play the passes then he is easily marked out of the game

it shocking to see how many players in our team who can't make a decent pass. what on earth are they doing in a team like liverpool?

yea, no doubt this is the product of rafa's philosophy. im not saying all teams have to play like arsenal or barca but when i look at other top clubs they have players with good movement and good skills, we have maybe 3 or 4 of them. i have a hard time believing kuyt or lucas would get anywhere near another top club in europe (maybe in italy)
