Sweet Jesus, but for an incredible pass from Can, the 'best team in the league' would have been knocked out of the FA cup by Bolton. What a knee jerk thread this is. If we don't sign 2-3 class players (actual class, not guff like Lallana) we won't get top 4 next year, we have a job on to even get it this year.

I agree, I also think the only way we get in, is through the europa league cup win, we are far too inconsistent to stay in touch with United and Arsenal. I think Soton will fall away at the end.

Don't know about you guys, but finally I'm starting to appear more optimistic in regards to the potential of our football club. Owners etc aside, we have a squad that can potentially be the best team in the league. That formation is working a treat for Coutinho and Sterling, and with Sturridge coming back in. I've really enjoyed watching our games over the past couple of weeks and we look a lot stronger defensively as well - credit to Mignolet who has upped his game.
Credit where its due with Rodgers, he has made changes and has shown bottle which has drastically improved our team from before Christmas. Massive game this weekend!! Potentially best team in the league? Even if all our young players develop to become the best (which I doubt), a club rarely keeps all his players and we have been selling our best players lately+other teams can always buy just as Chelsea and City have been doing.

We have just as good a chance as Napoli. They might be higher placed in their league, but their games won, goals for/against, and points total are almost identical to ours. There isn't a team left in the Europa league that we aren't capable of beating.
Send out the reserves for the FA Cup and put all of our efforts into the Europa League as it is our best opportunity for CL football next year.

Umm Wolfsburg seem like a team that we could struggle against, Besiktas are also dormidable. We could beat Napoli sure, our atats are very simillar, however one team has a manager who is considered to be amongst the best in Europe, a manager who's teams play a very good counter attack and are quite difficult to score against, a manager who is top top notch. The other team has Brendan Rodgers. Now, as much as i support him, i think it will be very very hard, near impossible, for BR to get anything against Benitez and his Napoli side.

I can't quite believe I've just read this, the FA Cup is a massive chance for us to win a trophy. As for playing our reserves we have played good, strong team to get through the first two rounds so we aren't going to change it now. As for the Europa League there are some really good teams left in it, everyone is creaming over Napoli but there is Inter Milan, Ajax, Roma, Wolfsburg, Sevilla and my favourite for the competition is Villarreal, anyone who watches La Liga will know why. However we have just as good a chance of winning it as everyone else! We bought a squad to compete on all fronts in the summer, every game and every competition is a priority!
