Don't think he was immense against Villa.

Surprisingly I've been more impressed with his defensive work in the last two games, he has a really good work ethic and given time will turn into a top player. Not sure where his best position is though because I don't think it's wing back.

He definely isn't a left back or wing back. He will be of more use in the final third and can even score goals if given a fair crack at it.

But when things seem simple to me, BR usually does the exact opposite and that is what I am expecting again. Will we see Markovic as a winger or in the hole? No.

Just thought about this. Brendan Rogers did the same to Stewart Downing and had some lip fest about his need to defend or some sh!te. I wonder if we will see the same happen to Markovic - shipped out in a year or two - after being played out of position and LFC losing money again.

considering markovic was awful at the beginning of the season i find it hard to work out where you're coming from on that one, especially when lallana has always looked decent and put a shift in for us. he's a grafter.

markovic has looked much better lately but theres certainly big room for improvement just yet. its obvious his best position is out on the flank. his pace, power and ability to run at the opposition defence suggests that.

don't think its a similar case to stewart downing at all. if you look at the current formation our wing backs tend to hug the lines. the set up certainly demands more attack minded players. moreno certainly fits the bill perfectly down the left hand side with his attacking prowess. but take a look at the other players available for the right side. whenever I've seen johnson and manquillo play there they've struggled to offer anything going forward and look quite static. i think the reasoning behind playing markovic there is that he's a naturally wide player who has the pace to get up and down the pitch quickly.

Yeah very astute. His defensive work has been much better than his attacking against villa and last night. Last night he was incredibly average in attack, but he always tracked back and made some important defensive contributions.

I don't agree...i thought he was very good in attack beating Felipe Luis almost every time, winning several free kicks around the box and drawing a yellow card for Felipe Luis too...also some of his through balls were amazing, only problem was Sterling's first touch..

He was excellent against Sunderland both going forward and defending but against Villa and Chelsea his back-tracking outshone his forward play for me.

I think he has talent and some encouraging signs last few weeks the only note of caution is I fear he could be one of those players who gives a good performance one week then goes missing for the next two games. But let's be optimistic and hope he performs consistently he does have talent
