I know he was injury prone but he can play ball to feet and he is a tower of a defender. It was maybe one of BR's worse decisions in my book.

To be quite honest there isn't a single area of the pitch that doesn't need a better player to be brought in, that's after spending well over 200 million in the last couple of years. Think of that.

We should move for Cech and either Martinez or Lacazette. I really think that would be enough to turn as around and maybe salvage this season by winning a trophy. If fsg REALLY want to make a statement, signing someone like Cavanni might do it, but I don't see that happening. We need a goalkeeper and a striker though. That much is certain.

I didn't see anything from Agger in the last 3 or 4 years to suggest he was worth a place in the squad, let alone the 1st team. His injury record seemed to improve more recently with us but as a defender he was no better than what we have at the moment - a point surely proven by the lack of interest in him and the level at which he is playing now?
I get that people love him because he bought into the club and had LFC tattoo's (whoop-de-doo!) but that seems to be clouding a lot of people's judgment on what makes a good player. We were just as bad in defence when he was playing as we are now.
And as for Reina.....his form had been going downhill for 4 years - probably since his first of many attempts to get a move away from the club to Barca, Arsenal etc...
Perhaps both of them suffered from a change in how we played? In which case, why are they exempt from criticism when others who have been no worse, are made into scapegoats (mignolet, sakho, lovren, skrtel.....)

lovern isn't a lick on aggers boots and reina is a much better keeper than migs. But maybe people have short memories.

We are ready to re-sign Origi for an extra £ 6 M from what I have seen. Isn't that some kind of marquee signing? A small marquee at least. An untested marquee. A young marquee. Hmm. I'll settle with that we are trying to pay more than we've already done to try and get a 19 year old rookie come here and turn the LFC wreck around.

The honest truth is stability, not rash signings, is the best means of turning this club around this season in my opinion.
That being said, if players aren't impressing or getting game-time and look second string, selling them and signing replacements makes a lot of sense.
Every club has 2 decent keepers and we have 1, and he is out of form. A keeper is essential.
With Johnson likely leaving to Roma, Manquillo struggling to get games ahead of him, and Flanagan still to come back, I can see a right back coming in, but probably not this window. If one does, it will be because Johnson left early.
Enrique is in the same position as a couple of players. He is categorically not first choice, and has to compete to play. A suitable replacement would allow the club to move him on.
With Toure, Lovren, Skrtel and Sakho we have a good selection of defenders. However, with Toure about to run down his contract, it is time for Rodgers to decide on who replaces him in the squad. I can see this being a decision for the summer, so no changes here.
There was a need to look for a potential replacement in the summer for Gerrard, and Lucas looked to be on his way. It is entirely possible than Lucas will leave, with Rodgers pretty adamant that every player on the pitch must contribute to defence and attack, and Lucas' game is very much not in tune with that philosophy. If Lucas leaves, a replacement will have been lined up.
With Henderson, Can and Allen in midfield, there are good options here. I expect Can's game-time to increase as the season progresses. Nobody is really needed here, especially with Allen and Henderson being two consistent performers this season.
Coutinho's form is looking better, and Suso will soon be back from injury to press for games. With players able to fill in from just behind and just in front, I doubt we'll sign a creative attacking midfielder.
Lallana, Sterling, Markovic and Borini are the clubs players to supplement Coutinho and Suso in the next two positions. Borini's days playing for Liverpool are numbered, and he has failed to impress for us since he signed. A talented player who did well at Sunderland, I suspect relieving him from the books will allow the club to bring in another striker able to play slightly further back. Origi was signed to join in the summer and might be brought back early. With the club struggling for goals, Rodgers might be able to convince the owners for another signing here, but that is more hope than expectation.
With Sturridge, Lambert and Balotelli, Origi as aforementioned and/or a potential new signing, Liverpool will be less suceptible to injuries causing a goal crisis.
So summary, the club, and I really expect this to happen or else I will be very disappointed in the club this window, is for any player leaving to be replaced, with the addition of another striker, and a goalkeeper.
Expectations:
New GK to compete with Mignolet Origi signed early to compete with Sturridge Lucas to leave and be replaced
Hopes
New ST to replace Borini Montoya/New RB to replace Johnson
Slimmer Chance
New LB to replace Enrique New CM - long term Gerrard replacement New CB to replace Toure

I hope he will be a good player for us but this is what we are now? Top to bottom they need to get the f!ck out of this club before they ruin it further.
