This was a quite rediculous match.
I thought that Arsenal were sleeping for most of the game.
they clearly have some exceptional players but the game didnt matter at all.
Liverpool were sometimes amusing, sometimes disjointed and mostly unbalanced, but managed to look ok against an arsenal team that didn't take this game seriously for some reason.
Liverpool had some nice passing and running moves which was refreshing.
Continuing to rely on Henderson, Lucas and Gerrard as the spine of the team is pitiful though.
Henderson cant do anything on the ball and out on the right side he has no ability to go forward at all. The opposition know it and his team mates know it, so if he is out there we dont attack on the right side at all.
Lucas is just a "stand up player" he stands, runs a bit, puts in ankle taps when he is beaten and that's it.
S.G. ? Is obviously not up to playing 90 minutes every week. He has to "skip" (have you seen this?) to change direction, which shows he has lost his flexibility.
I can see the point of having him playing in front of the back line as he is not a good defender and he cant run at pace, is left behind by attacking opponents and has lost the pace to bring the ball forward.
Mostly Lucas and Gerrard stroll around watching things happen.
I am impressed with Toure and Sakho and Lallana and Markovic. Good to see some urgency and intelligence on the ball.
