I consider us lucky to have got a late equaliser we were let off the hook of another epl defeat at home don't get me wrong I am really pleased we got the point but all it did for me is show our midfielders can't do anything with the ball despite having a load of posession and our strikers are not good enough that's what I learned from this game realistically!
but they put in some effort for a change which was good to see
deserved better than a point

Have to agree with Faz today. We looked for the first time this season far more like last season. High work rate, desire to win, fast tempo, closing down the opposition (especially first half).

What we are missing is Sturridge and even Mario would have probably got something today.

What it is doing is hopefully forcing the club to look at the weakest links for January, rather than them being hidden by the goals scored like last season.

But that was still way way better as a team even with the usual shambles at the back.

Missed the game but my brother watched (arsenal fan) and he thought we dominated the first half with very good goal scoring chances but their keeper saved a lot. We dropped off in the second half and then it started to become a game of ping pong with chances either side. Obviously they have quality forward with Giroud and Sanchez so no surprise to see them score against our defence. I think its a poor result for both sides. We should of won but it is encouraging to hear we put in a good performance.

Arsenal had 7 shots and we had 27. Arsenal 3 shots on goal and we 10.

That was how much we dominated that game.

A good defence had sorted out the 2 goals we conceded.

The first was poor marking by Lucas where he let Flamini the giant head the ball forwards against Debuchy. Skrtel was held down by Debuchy. Should have had a free kick there. Brad Jones stood on the line instead of going out and claiming the ball. Lots of mistakes on that goal apparently.

On the second goal it was poor positional play by Touré. After that no one market Giroud - just ball watching. And Lucas/Gerrard didn't run back as fast as they could. Ball watching and hoping we wouldn't concede.

Poor poor defending. Relegation quality that! frown

End of the day west ham are two more points ahead of us and we have relegation teams coming up so if we have turned the corner we should get some wins.

Still worried about the [oops] poor defending

Which is the best way to approach any match. Because of last season and the fact that we lost our best striker and the second best was too much on the players to handle. The pressure was big at the start of the season. But after losing so many points I think the players are feeling no pressure anymore and are performing to their potential. Also the new players are settling in and I can see us hitting a good form! I think they will surprise us in the second half of the season.
Well do Mighty Reds.
YNWA.
You could say that if we'd won the game. We certainly looked better but you can't say we did well with a home draw.

We still got an uphill battle and we have played better against our rivals but its how we do against the lower teams will be the decider.

What do you mean lower teams? We're nine points behind Allardyce and seven points above the relegation zone half way through the season ffs. We ARE one of the lower teams.

Over the last 6 seasons there's been needed 72 points on average to get a 4:th place in PL. The top was last year when Arsenal had 79 points, and the lowest was 2010/11 when Arsenal had 68 points.

In order to reach 72 points we will have to nick another 40 points from our remaining 21 games. That equals just shy of 2 points a game.

So far we have mustered 22 points from our first 17 games, which equals 1.3 points per game.

Last year when we challenged for the title we managed to scramble 84 points, which equals 2.2 points per game over the whole season.

Is it likely that we will manage to crawl up to 4:th place? Don't think so - very hard looking at our recent form. frown
