I don't think we can pay big money as you say because of FFP and it doesn't look that we will be in CL next season, thus less revenue. We just need to buy better+more quality than quantity as we did in the last window. That said, I don't think we will be what we all want to be under Rodgers. You cannot be a good manager if you have always been so bad at defending goals and set pieces except maybe if you are Pep.

If FSG don't have the will/funds to stump up the necessary cash for proper players, then isn't it even more crucial that the players eventually bought turns out well?

Better 1 really good player in each and every window over the upcoming 2 years, than 9 hopefuls per window, who stir the whole shitt up and deliver next to nothing.

After BR was appointed and half the backroom staff were cleared out, FSG and Rodgers brought in Dave Fallows from Man City to be head of Scouting and Recruitment. He's a long time friend of BR from their Reading days together.

No, this is a meeting between BR and his staff, as FSG have said why the [oops] have you been knocked out of the champions league and sat in 11th place in the league after spending so much money.

FSG have had enough of Rodgers, this is either them sacking everyone involved in the committee - Rodgers, Pascoe, Ayre, Fallows, Edwards or it's Rodgers trying to save his bacon by saying I'll have words with my staff and we will turn this [oops] up around. Either way people are going to be sacked, same thing happened when Kenny was in charge, first Comolli went, then Kenny, Clarke, McParland and Borrell.

McParland and Borrell should never have been fired.

Our defense (or lack of it) would have been much different if Clarke were still here.

I fully agree, the amount of talent that McParland brought to the academy will be hard to match. I still don't understand why Rodgers didn't want to work with Borrell, as he was coaching the youth team to play the attacking football that he desires. Borrell managed the U18 and was then promoted to reserve team coach in order to manage his younger players who were now adults and guide them in to the first team, it was a great setup, instead now we buy 20m players to replace our youth talent. Same goes for Pep Segura, why didn't Rodgers name him as 1st team coach or his assistant manager instead of that plank Pascoe.

Instead Rodgers hired some no mark from Crewe to run his academy and hired Mike Marsh; an average former player with no coaching credentials apart from working with the youth squad to be his 1st team coach. The whole backroom staff stinks of Yes men worshipping Rodgers and once again a sign of Rodgers' ego, getting rid of all backroom staff that belonged to a former regime, no matter what their talent was, same happened with players as well - Shelvey, Reina, Agger etc. We need world class coaches and scouts

Clarke won't work with Rodgers though, especially in the role he would have been given. Rodgers didn't want him, he wanted Pascoe as his number 2.

I think Kenny had worked out a new boot room, in that he would manage for 2-3 years and then Clarke would take over with Keen as his number 2.

Clarke is a football manager in his own right.

However, the former Watford, and Reading manager, who rejected Liverpool's initial approach for an interview, only accepted after three meetings with FSG convinced the owners to dilute plans for a new management structure led by Louis van Gaal.

Ian Ayre, Liverpool's managing director, explained: "The structure – and Brendan is aware of this – is a more continental director of football-type structure, a collaborative group of people working around the football area." But it is one with Rodgers at the head and with control over football operations and transfers.

Liverpool's new manager said: "The owners probably spoke to one or two people about certain roles but I wanted clarity on it [the structure] and I didn't agree until after three discussions with them. That I would control the team, control the work and then what we have underpinning that is a team all with one vision and one mentality – that is to make the first team better. If it was anything other than that then I couldn't have said yes because that's not my strength.

Asked if he had 100% confidence that Liverpool will only sign players he identifies, Rodgers said: "Yes. It's absolute madness if you are the manager of the club and someone else tells you to have that player. It doesn't work. I've had total clarity with that from the guys so I've got confidence that will remain. It was for this reason that I didn't want to be sat up there, say what I've said and then in three weeks time Louis van Gaal walks in the door."
