Anyone that finished 2nd playing the kind of football that we were playing should have been given the money to spend. It's just a shame that we didn't buy 2 world class players instead of a load of squad players. Sanchez is the one that hurts the most because we could have threatened to KO the Suarez deal to get that done. There is nothing we could have done at all. Sanchez simply wanted to go to arsenal. Barcelona had no power to force him to sign for liverpool. ok fine .point taken.how on earth were they 100% on Sanchez?where was the Plan B

Have to agree Sixty, in fact it's pretty much a given at this point that the transfer decision making policy is a shambles and down to a group. People want to rip Rogers to shreds- I get it, but he is one of a number who are failing and if he pays with his job they all need to.
Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.

I agree we have had three managers under FSG and the transfer performance has been from disaster to catastrophic, there is something wrong at the club

Houllier finished 2nd and got sacked the following year because the board wouldn't pay the necessary money on top players to take us forward.......
Benitez finished 2nd and got sacked the following year because the board wouldn't pay the necessary money on top players to take us forward......
Rodgers finished 2nd......... ......... and everybody thought that he'd become champion the following season.

It seems that the Qatar government are bidding for a Spurs takeover ? How is is it all these rich consortiums go for clubs other than us ? Maybe they have better structures (business and stadium) than us.

Can governments own football clubs? I suspect it's the sovereign wealth fund/ their investment arm which are allowed to.

There's been a lot of Spurs take overs going on in the recent past so probably not much in it. But they'll be looked at as a London club with sound financials and a new stadium to be built. If their owners are willing to sell and ours aren't, that'll also help.
