For me that was a clear indication that he is not 100% behind his manager because he said we were not good enough over the entire 6 games. Something that BR was not quizzed on after the match.

Gerrard was diplomatic but when asked do they need to buy again implying the new signings are not good enough reading between the lines Gerrard seem to feel they wearnt


Thought it was a strange question to ask of someone who has no say in who comes in. But he seemed very dismissive in his honesty of whether we were good enough to go through over the 6 games.

Also if you remember after the previous CL disappointment Gerrards account was significantly different to rodgers very worrying if I had to trust one if thems opinion it would not be Mr Brent

If we end up winning the uefa cup than its a decent season despite our league form but if we can't beat basel who are 2nd or even 3rd tier team in european competition then we won't be able to beat those teams in that comp either.

So we now have 2 realistic avenues' to get CL football.

1 Finish in top 4

2 Win Europa league.

And our team is not that bad, get Sturridge back next year, Mario fit and scoring, we will add more players in January.

I really think we can win the Europa league.

And just imagine, Man Utd finish 4th and we win the Europa league, then we take that CL place away from Man Utd.


The only positive thing that could come out of this is if Rodgers was sacked after the result. Not being able to qualify over a team like Basel is a disgrace, I am sure they have spent much less than us.

Are we Reading FC or some other pub team? We go into a must win game with defensive lineup. The great Basel FC comes to Anfield playing three at the back and two up front and we are in a good place. Pass the crack pipe homie.

Mignolet=poor keeper cant kick for toffee.
Moreno=only good going forward.
Sakho=donkey.
Lovren=also a donkey.
Maquilo=average(not as good as Johnson)
Lucas=average(wants to leave)
Can=maybe one day.
Markovic=unproven and cant get in the team.
Sterling=good in flashed but no end product.
Balotelli=a complete waste of space and money.
Sturridge=great player but always injured.
and your insistence on not considering Gerrard to be good enough for our team is embarrassing.he is still head and shoulders above any other player we have.

I disagree that Sakho is a donkey, the problem is BR insists on messing about with the ball at the back instead of getting our defenders to actually concentrate on defending, this doesn't suit Sakho at all. Look at him for France, he is an absolute beast.
