It's a bit like having a tooth ache and taking pain killers to numb the pain.
What I mean is that a couple of scrappy, lucky wins are not enough.
Personally, and I really mean this, if we played outstanding football in the next 2/3 games but lost all of them to dodgy decisions or something completely beyond our control then I wouldn't be that keen on getting shut of Rodgers.
But that expectancy just doesn't exist with me.
At the end of the day, although its a results driven sport its our performances on the pitch that have been abysmal this season and some of the wins we have had completely flatter us.
I'd rather he go sooner rather than later so that something can be done with the rest of our season.
That's all well and good Red (trust me I understand where you are coming from) but how about we do that, a new guy comes in and things don't improve? The Championship is a wash with clubs who have tried that and it didn't help.
Bearing in mind the timing couldn't be worse and the number of available managers who we all agree we now need (proven top drawer) are almost non existent all the options look dire.
If we got Raffa I would have complete confidence in him stopping the rot, but I just don't see them going for a manager like that or him leaving Napoli before the current campaign is out. Maybe they will be forced into it but is seems unlikely.
The season looks a right-off anyway if there isn't a Pardew like turnaround , and so I would hope we can do enough to stay up and then have the summer to look at this long and hard. The weakness for that argument though is it continues and we are in a relegation fight.
It's a total trainwreck whatever is or is not done.
All we can do at present is get behind a team and manager devoid of confidence and hope to make a difference and scrape some sort of result. Things can turn around quickly in this game and I'm praying they do tonight.
