"Quilty as charged", said the man under the duvet.
Meaning what?

That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

It seems strange that he is let out after just a couple of years. I also agree that he should have kept his knob in his pants and irrespective of drunkenness all round he should not be putting himself in that position.

Lain is right on this matter. He obviously has not been educated to understand that what he has been convicted of repulses everyone irrespective of whether he did it or not.

Perhaps having made the decision to get himself into that position in the first place he should have pushed the boat out to get the best brief possible to get him off. Especially if the evidence was flimsy and there was alcohol involved.

He remains a convicted rapist. I don't think there is a club in the country that will pay this guy to play for them. Fans will stay away in huge numbers in protest to make sure he doesn't play again.

Very interesting debate had in university regarding this case today. A lot of people believe he shouldn't every play again because its not exactly being a good role model. However some believe that everyone deserves a second chance in life and he should be allowed the opportunity to revive his career. Personally I'm not sure where I stand on the case.

I never finish anythi

There was a case in the news a few years back where two drunk students went back to a flat to have sex, not exactly an unknown occurrence. But the next day she accused him of rape he went to court I think he was not convicted but after months or years of the case he could not take his degree his name was in the papers and of course mud sticks his life was ruined. His accuser was anonymous finished her degree and presumably is now in a good career. I am not condoning rape but it's a very grey area especially where drink is concerned and it's one persons word against another. This case lead to the process of people signing consent forms before sex that's how mad it has become. If you read the case notes in the Evans case it's pretty unclear whether he is guilty of anything except being stupid

How about Luke McCormick?

He killed 2 children driving down the motorway whilst over the legal limit. A far more serious case I believe. He was sentenced to 7 years in prison and served 4 (I think).
He is now playing professional football again, at Plymouth, and is the club captain, but the press are not picking up on this fact.

Evans, was found guilty within a court of law and has served a portion of his sentence behind bars. It was not his decision to be let out. He now needs to make a living again and his profession is a football.

Couldn't make my mind up initially, but having read your factual post, I agree now also.

I genuinely didn't know about that.

I remember the incident clearly as I'm sure the wife of that bloke and his kids that died will do for the rest of their lives.
Absolutely dreadful incident.
Wasn't the Dad simply taking his lads to Silverstone for a birthday treat go karting iirc?

The basstard should have been locked up for life. mad

In terms of criminal gravity, this one is completely off the scale by comparison.
