He is at it again. What I don't get is whether he is trying to bs his way out of it or is he actually telling the truth?
“We need to be better in the final third, with that creativity and the ability to score goals important for us,” Rodgers said.
“We have signed talented young players and I’m sure over the time – whether that’s with me here or not – they will show that they are very good players.
“We know what targets we wanted and what was out there, but for one reason or another they are not here and gone elsewhere. We work with what we’ve got and look to improve what we’ve got and get back to somewhere near the level we’ve shown over the last 18 months.”
This is one way of telling your new recruits that they are useless.

Winning the UEFA cup with a side that should have been competing for the champions league trophy you mean? That's why I said he hasn't done ever so great. He hasn't done badly, but he hasn't done great either.
Rafa was only brought in as an Interim manager, he didn't have the chance to create his own squad and was only able to purchase 1 player and that was Demba Ba. Di Matteo left them in backroom turmoil, the players were about to revolt, they were in shockingly bad form and all but out of the Champions League, their league form the season before was terrible. Rafa only got the chance to manage them in 1 champions League game, which they won 6-1, winning the Europa League was the most he could achieve and he managed that. He also took them to the Club World Championship final and the Semi's of the League Cup and FA Cup. I seem to recall his Chelsea side smashing teams by 5 or 6 goals most weeks. All this with the fans on his back from day 1. Still they finished amongst the champions league places again, something fan favourite Di Matteo couldn't do. Who knows what might have been had he had the chance to construct his own squad and had the money to do so with fan support. Let's not forget about Napoli finishing 3rd last season and winning the Italian Cup, remin me again what Brendan has won in the last 3 years.

Brendan won himself a whiter smile, bigger paycheck and a new missus.

Let's not forget about Napoli finishing 3rd last season and winning the Italian Cup, remin me again what Brendan has won in the last 3 years. 1. I'm not asking us to bring in Brendan Rodgers am I, he's already here? So its a silly comparison. if someone new is to brought in, it shouldnt be someone who has already lost the liverpool dressing room once and failed. 2. You recall incorrectly if you think he was smashing teams by 6 goals 'most weeks'. 3. Di matteo who won the champions league you mean? If you're gonna pick out trophies managers won with other manager's squads, that one is much much bigger. Again makes the europa league point seem silly. 4. If you think Napoli fans were happy with Rafa all last season then clearly you don't pay much attention to Itallian football. 5. All you've done is repeatedly make the point he is more accomplished than Rodgers, yes he is, very much so. And what? It doesn't change the fact that he hasn't done that great since he left Liverpool, he failed with Liverpool once already, if we were to get a new manager, it would be very silly to look back.

Since leaving Liverpool he's won at least one trophy at every club he's managed without having any funds to do so, apart from at Napoli, but that was very much spend what you make, not 200+ million what Brendan has had.
Rafa achieves results on a shoestring budget, I think it's only fair that he gets his chance to show what he can do with owners willing to let him spend.

He's won mediocre trophies with squads built on HUGEEEEE investment. bar Napoli who had a very good team. that shoestring cr!p is rubbish, he didn't spend it but the teams have been full of very good players.

Sounds like he's on the verge of being sacked and playing the "it's everyone else's fault apart from mine" card. No doubt when he leaves he will throw everyone under the bus an claim the club din't match his insight of the game. I hope FSG burn his 200 page dossier.

That quote does sound like he thinks he's going. I don't want him sacked the turmoil mid season with a team misfiring as it is will be shambolic IMO and as Stan says is it really going to make much difference?
What are FSG going to do drop another £100 million for the next guy?
We have a break here and some real time to get things done on the training pitch let's hope we aren't using it for a new manager however pi*sed off we all are.
