We were beaten 0-3 against the only top team we've played this season, so which fact are you talking about?

It was 3 - 1 to be a bit picky.

For me though, as much as a win would be great, it just would beg the question of why we play so [oops] against the smaller teams? Yes it's great to able to beat Real or whoever else but to then struggle week in week out against the QPR's of this world makes no sense.

I think we will do well against Madrid but it will not hide the fact we are very poor this year. It's a fact of football teams raise their game against better teams see FA cup over the years for details. Not playing well consistently is our problem and has been for many years. It's still early days but we seem to have gone considerably backwards this year despite spending big in the close season, That's not being negative just stating the at it is in fact it's negative to ignore it. Positive action always involves recognising the problem and taking steps to resolve it.

Last time we beat them here we wiped the floor with them. Their cavalier approach will suit us down to the ground.
at that time we had the best midfielder in the world (Gerard) , one of the best ball winning midfielders in the world ( mascarano), one of the best cb we have ever had ( carra) and the best striker in the world ( torres)

what do we have now?, a talented 19 yr old and one has been (gerrard)

The team can and should lift their game and possibly get a draw. But Real are a class above us at the moment (meaning in this decade).

The team looks unbalanced and unmotivated. Likely result is 1-3. That's reality, not defeatist.

It's football, you never know.

Real Madrid were 2-0 up away to Real Sociedad this season and absolutely cruising, they ended up losing that game 4-2! Yes they are a top team, probably the best in the world at attacking but they aren't unbeatable!

After 8 League games -

RM - 30 goals scored, 9 conceded
LFC - 13 goals scored, 12 conceded

RM Top Goalscorer - C.Ronaldo 15 goals
LFC Top Goalscorer - R.Sterling 3 goals

As to having a good record against them, we had Rafa as our manager back then who knew Madrid inside out, we had one of the best teams in Europe, now we have Rodgers who has the tactical nous of a League 1 coach and a squad full of never has beens and never will be's.

They lost back in August when they were barely getting started, just like we beat Southampton, if we played Southampton this weekend, they would probably beat us.

Last 5 league games -

RM - 8-2, 5-1, 2-0, 5-0, 5-0
LFC - 0-1, 1-3, 1-1, 2-1, 3-2

So does that now mean they can't lose ever again?

I expected you to start posting when things aren't great, typical!

So why when Real Madrid lose a game when they are 'barely getting started' yet when we do the same its all doom and gloom?

They can be got at, if you watch La Liga which I very much doubt they give away plenty of chances per game, if we can take our chances and toughen up the back 4 then we have every chance of getting a result, as difficult as it will be.

To write a game off before its started is ridiculous and not what any football fan should do of any club.

I'm sure if we do struggle you'll be back smiling and blaming Rodgers and saying how everything about LFC is s***.

As for BR having the nous of a League One coach, if this is true how did he get Swansea promoted and consolidate them in the Premiership? How did he take us back into the Champions League? I know Suarez had a world class season but BR got the best out of him and the team last season, remember Suarez under Kenny, completely different player under Rodgers!
