You and your Mates vish are not representative of two continents I am not stubborn i just have an opinion and if I think I am right I like to argue my case. I don't ever recall you conceding anything come to think if it. And by the way I do watch football on TV we have televisions in the UK I pay £50 a month to watch sports on TV in addition to my normal TV package and I do look at the stadium. What do you do screen your eyes with your fingers so you can see only the grass ? I watch the game not the stadium and seats. By the way, I meant we watch more football than you on tv only because we have more live games than you as the Saturday 3 pm games are not shown live in UK while we usually have 3 games being played. I have never had a debate on a football stadium, those watching tv don't care and it's the same over the 2 continents whether you like it or not. I have had football discussions both in India and Africa, never on how a stadium looks, yes every now and then one could say nice looking stadium when it is shown before a game, but nobody cares when the game starts, it's the results that count. You have your different opinion, great, let's leave it there.

I don't have a solely sports package as this doesn't exist but to get all EPL games (about 8 games a week), CL, main German and Spanish leages games + other sports like Rugby, F1, Tennis, Golf etc + movies and news (CNN, Sky, BBC etc), I pay about 50 GBP/month. For French tv and French league I pay an additional 15 quids but here I get the main EPL and CL (French teams) games but in French.

I pay £47 a month for sky and BT that entitles me to 2 prem games on a saturday and 2 on a sunday. When I have been to Singapore, Bangkok, Malaysia more or less every prem game in on the TV.
You have to wonder why this is so my guess is the market can bear less than the UK so they have to price lower and I have no evidence of this but I am pretty confident the FA negiotated limited games on the UK TV because it would impact the "at game" attendances.
The UK supporter gets a very poor TV deal even if you never go near a stadium. Should you venture to a game expect to be relieved of £50 or more.
My world is very different to yours Vish I can see you are a decicated fan and Kenny Dalglish was your hero when you were younger no doubt. Lets hope Ballotell inspires a new generation.
My world is a temperate, crowded industrialised country I find it hard to understand your perspective and you me.
Even if I never went to watch any football game where I live I cannot fail to see the stadiums I have problably a dozen or more within a 45 minute drive of my house. Triple or more that if you count Cricket and Rugby, At least once a month I drive past Evertons, Citys and Uniteds grounds.
The guys in the pub I talk to about football are (to a varying extent) match goers either prem football or rugby. Every one of them says Liverpool need a 75k seater stadium and they are right these are not neceassily Liverpool fans either its just completely obvious given the situation.
So for me and the 7 million people who live in the North WEst of England Anfields poor state is right in our faces we cant escape it even if we were not to see it we are reminded of it by other teams fans. We see the Manchester clubs having or building stadiums that are frankly light years away from Anfield even after the two stands have been redeveloped. And there is now talk of Everton getting a new stadium,
I am 56 now I first went to Anfield when I was 6 and (to varying degress0 I have been going ever since. I am proud of Liverpool the City (even though I dont live there) proud of Liverpool FC and proud of Anfield the stadium I love the place, I have spent all my life there.
But over the years I have seen other clubs building impressive stadia all around my area Manchester City is the final straw for me. Its far better for me personally to stay at Anfield and keep our seats which are on the halfway line. But my head tells me Liverpool have to move with the times and progress and match or better our local rivals. No one will ever convince me refurbishing Anfield is the best option its the cheapest yes the best no.
Forgive me but I want the best for LFC.
I am sure we will continue to disagree Vish but I hope that helps you understand my perspective

a massive part of why we don't get all the games on UK TV is because of the BBC and match of the day. The highlights package costs a lot for the BBC to purchase and its seen as an institution in this country.
One day though things will change and the Premier league and FA will have to release all games to the paying public in some sort of season ticket form for your team. If they don't people will keep watching the product for free on the internet.
this format would also solve the problem that we've been talking about on another thread regards to the UK consumer being tapped out financially. You could generate much more money for the league by selling a season ticket of all 38 premier league games for each club.

I am sure we will continue to disagree Vish but I hope that helps you understand my perspective Great post Stan. Obviously global brand is just as important as stadium and accounts for a large proportion of what can keep a club at the top, but stadium is incredibly important too. I've said it before but the stadium isn't just about the seat capacity, modern stadia bring in tonnes of money from the many commercial and corporate benefits (not to mention jobs) it provides, whilst there is some area regeneration proposed this is nothing like what a new stadium would bring. I want to make it clear that I don't dislike FSG and I understand their position, they've taken the option that is best for them and not necessarily best for the club, as their primary interest is (quite rightly) not Liverpool FC. But that doesn't stop it being painful when forced to endure the fact that we are carrying out the incredibly outdated (90's!) plan for redeveloping 2 stands (in fact 1 less stand than spoken of in the 90's I believe). As Stand pointed out, and this isn't subjective, the proposed plan leaves Liverpool behind the second it is completed. We are spending all this money, and our stadium won't be efficient, modern, or competitive at the top level, it won't even be close (remember a stadium isn't just about seat capacity). Now of course you would be within your rights to say Liverpool shouldn't have a stadium that competes with the best but again that hurts to hear, but that might be your view, it isn't mine. Again, I don't blame FSG, they aren't here to be sugar daddies, but it still hurts that the cheaper option and not necessarily the best option for the club is being chosen.

The main reason is (as has been stated by FA et al several times) that it would harm match day attendances. Whether that is the truth of the matter I can't say. But that's the official party line.

I would love that but as red kop says it aint going to happen the clubs want their cake and eat it. And as always they get their wish. We pay a premium on TV for very little coverage and get hammered at the stadium should we be so foolish as to want to watch a game for real.

pure demand will force a change of policy at some point, probably when the tv money starts to go backwards. more and more people are starting to have satellites installed that can pick up foreign TV stations. Some pubs around my town have live football shown at 3.00pm Saturdays.

But yes worth looking into I am sick of being fleeced
