I have to agree with Faz here, I think £75mil is a fair price all things considered.

I was under the impression that Suarez wouldn't sign a contract with such a high buy out, he already wanted to move.

Whether Ronaldo comes or not the point is United can afford to buy him for £140m we would struggle to find £25m for a player.

They built their success over the last 25 years while we were p1ssing around with Moores who also made himself a hefty retirement by selling to H&G. If you want us to compete with them today, you are dillusional.

Not saying it hasn't been stated already, but the money invested to progress this season has been spent poorly. The £75 million for Suarez was about right considering there were few takers with that buying power and his issues- it's what we have done with it (IF the plan was consolidation) that is the biggest issue and question.

It seems now after 6 games that we were rolling the dice on a gamble that key players would stay fit (fail) and that we could stay close enough for a punt late season as things came together.

That looks like having failed and the plan all along was realistically for next season and beyond by cheap skating.

I'd take a guess most fans wouldn't be happy with that but they could care less about us anyhow.
