In any case, to build a covered stadium of 50-55k seats for 200m seems very low and marerial is not going to be much cheaper in Liverpool I think, probably labour, but not that much cheaper neither.

Manchester city's stadium was £110m in 2002 plus I think about £20m to convert it to a football stadium so £200m does not seem out of the way. Like I say vish don't compare London to Liverpool

How much have City pumped into it to make it the complex that it is though? I bet it's more than a few hundred mil?

And just because the a Emirates is in London doesn't mean that a stadium can be built for half the cost up north. Materials won't differ that much in price and neither would labour as I would assume it wouldn't necessarily be a local builder doing it.

Anyway you look at it I would say that for what we want as a new stadium, £400m would be about the figure.

Define bare bones will it have no seats or roof ? There will be minimum standards of regulation for a stadium to operate anfield under the refurb will be cramped as you will know if and when you go there. Where I sit the person behind you has their Knees in your back and you the person in front and that's in the centenary which is fairly new. Anfield is very small and was originally designed for terracing so even a cheap new build will be better than ours.

maybe the fans will need to btring their own folding chairs... and pay ground rent for the privilege as well as pay for the match ticket smile

Our worst nightmare could happen here they could go for a new owner or a consortium and leave us for dead with a 75, 000 seater. Don't be surprised if that happens, they cam see we've opened the door for them with our Mickey Mouse tart up job.

200m for a new 50k stadium is I think the Mickey Mouse job, forget the 75k seater

If they we're to bring the price down to roughly half ours or slightly above they might surprise us in a short enough period of time.

Vish you have no idea what will happen Everton could announce something next week next year the fact is they are giving themselves options we are locking in. Even if they build a 55 k it will be purpose built with facilities and views all around the ground anfield will be a Heath Robinson connection four stands thrown together. But you have absolutely no idea what's going on in Everton boardrooms or the city council neither do I but I would no preclude anything

London is actually the worlds 5th richest city, or has the 5th highest GDP with, New York, Tokyo, Los Angeles and Seoul all with a higher GDP.

Furthermore, not only can you not compare New York and London, you cant compare London to Tokyo either. New York has a GDP of 1.2 billion, Tokyo 1.5 Billion whereas London has a GDP of around 700 million. Half of Tokyo's.

Look, I am not worried at all with a 55k stadium costing 200m, if you want to be, it's your problem, be my guest.
