I feel like it was a bit half-baked. They wanted to upgrade their attack, but the NEEDED to bolster their defense first. Shaw, Blind an Rojo should help, but they still lack a real right back or wingback and a central midfielder who can shield the defense and control the midfield. Herera, Mata, Di Maria, and Januzaj are quality, but they're all attackers. They have no box to box guy (though Di Maria can perhaps do that in a pinch) and they don't have the person to do it. Carrick and Fletcher just don't cut it.
That said, now they have arguably the best strike force in the league, though at least one of that trio is going to end up unhappy. They'll be very dangerous if they can figure out how to get this to work, but it seems lopsided to me.
