I don't think it's an obligation to buy, otherwise they would have bought but staggered the payment, United is not playing in Europe this season so FFP is a non issue if ever they had a problem.

The 'loan' in this case is similar to our 'loan' deal with Manquillo. To all intents and purposes it's a permanent transfer. But as both clubs have already spent heavily and want to avoid FFP problems, the actual sale of the player is deferred so it will go into the expenditure column of a different year's accounts.

So because Monaco has spent heavily they would loan thier player to avoid FFP? laugh By the way, Manure doesn't have any FFP issues [/quote

Er, no! I think you've misunderstood me.

So what did you mean by 'both clubs have already spent heavily'?

The FFP calculations are based over a 3 season period though. And I read somewhere that staggering the payments wouldn't work...something to do with the agreed fee being included rather than any payments 'per se'.

Regardless of FFP, how good he is etc etc, he's not what they need and by not strengthening where they need it, it's all good for us and others in the league. They're just putting lipstick on a pig IMO and in many of the Utd supporters I know.

Yes, staggered payments doesn't work but Manure has no FFP problems this season as they are not in the CL and buying now would be the same as buying next season unless it's only an option not an obligation.

United buying Di Maria and Falcao is a heart attack victim going to hospital and the doctors giving the patient a breast enhancement.

They should finalise Blind today too, he's going to be playing in a defensive midfield role. So they're just looking for a centre back or two, right?
