It's a rebuild ladies - you're just going to have to put up with that old knock-about stadium with all it's history for a few years yet - and even worse, now there's going to be more of it!

If I paint my old shed in the garden it's still an old shed. Why are you so bothered anyway you admitted you are never going to leave your sofa

I go to the stadium every now and then when the lads are going, mostly mid week cup games. I never said I was a champion of the sofa, much prefer the pub like. I actually find going to the match a hassle so I keep it to a minimum.

Funny you said that, I've worked in the restoration industry and find that tarting up, if done correctly, can enhance and add so much more than any new build ever could.

If you need your shed done give us a shout wink

Well you may well "like a bit of old grit” with your football Duncan, but I can assure you you wouldn’t like “a bit of old grit” when you’re doing your “massive cockwaving extravaganza” regardless of whether it’s with your “moisturizing would-be-lads” or your “rebuild ladies”. You should know by now that grit doesn’t gel with any of that lark, best get with the “new age” and avoid the agony!

Ahhh, well now you see, that makes you an inferior fan now in some sheeples eyes.

Bit like meself really too, only I take it even further by refusing to purchase any of their grossly over rated over priced corporate image related sh1te tat too!

I did my duty on The Kop back in the 60's and 70's when prices were reasonable and there wasn't this BIG business machine and obscene wages crap to feed and contend with.

Red and white home knitted scarf (which I've still got)was all I and the majority needed in those days

You do know that by not handing over enough money makes you less of a supporter.
I hope your hand knitted scarf keeps you warm when you burn in hell for your sins wink

Ha, ha problem is a good haiku hides as much as it says and that wouldn’t have done your brilliant use of the vernacular the justice it deserved, ya massive cockwaving old grit lover! P.

Spot on growls and everyone held them high and proud regardless of the result good old days them! never to be repeated i fear while going to the match is more of a status sign rather than the community day out but apparently thats progress!

Whilst I whole heatedly agree that, in line with the rest of the world, football has been taken out of the community and put into the business world (though Liverpool still less so than a large number of top clubs owing to local support), some assertions you have made are quite simply not true.

The biggest falacy is the 'we held them high regardless of result' more than they do today. Having been at the ground in the glory days and in the modern business era (it doesn't make me a superior fan in the slightest, just in a position to compare attitudes after losses), categorically the fall out from a bad result is 100 percent absolutely no different to how it is today. If it's a loss on the back of a good run but we tried our best we sang then and we sing now, if it's a c!ckless performance we moaned then and we moan now. In the recent past we've just had more to moan about!

The 'good old days' may well apply to community spirit, but in terms of supporting through thick and thin, in the majority it's your standard 'summers were longer too' bullsh!t grumpy old men spout cause they have too much time on their hands and aren't living their misbegotten youth anymore. And quite frankly it's giving us grumpy old men a bad name! So stop it!
