It would come down to fairness, if BR tells him straight-up that he will get a chance if Mignolet screws up and that both will be treated equally I see no reason why he wouldn't accept it and get on with it.

He was easily as good as Mignolet last season at Napoli and his skills are far more suited to the way we play than the current Mignolet. If the pair of them push each other to another level it will be great for the club.

Get the lad back, bring him into the fold as with Suarez and get him back to his best. Rogers is a master at it with every other player so why not Reina.

Totally sums up my opinion. Let them duke it out for that spot. Reina's shot stopping needs work, and Mignolet's command of the box/distribution needs work. I think Mignolet has more raw talent and potential, but Reina has more experience, more football IQ, and more tools (currently).

Rodgers and Reina are both big boys, and I don't think this media tiff would really be that much of an obstacle.

Given that the wages of sin is death, that’s a harsh verdict right there... as the yanks would say, and they’re calling the shots!

The owners and manager have every right to want rid of Reina because of his wage. Let's face it Reina isn't a £60k a week keeper never mind £120k

If that was the reason for getting rid of him, it raises questions regarding focus. These decisions should be based on playing performance, rather than on penny pinching cost savings. We end up with a weaker keeper for the difference in their wages. Not the way to run a football club that should be trying to win the Champions league. It shows a lack of ambition, and a focus on financial issues rather than performance.

It should be a reason for getting rid of him! Not one club in world football would pay and average Reina £120k a week. That's the main reason not one club is interested in buying him at £4m

I wouldn't class Reina as being a better goalie than Mignolet. Maybe at his peak but he was poor enough in his last few seasons at Liverpool

I think clubs know we want rid of him so they're leaving it for a moment, maybe for a better price.

Actually it doesn't show a lack of ambition, it shows our owners and management have a brain and aren't affraid to use it. Would you pay a million pounds for a 30 year old ford escort? This nonsense about penny pinching is nothing but that, nonsense. The difference in wages did not reflect the difference in quality of the 2 goalkeepers. One is better in certain situations and the other is better in other situations. No one said we would have had a better season with Reina in goal.

It's all about the trade offs. Was Reina worth that much more money or could the money saved from his wages be utilized in a more effective manner by the club?
