Ah ffs pigeon! "small dignified nod"... followed by "the sipping of a beer" my fu*king arse! Since when did proper football fans in any half decent pub ever take “sipping’s of a beer”? And make "small and dignified's nod of approval”? Thats a fu*king wake you’re talking about man!
No this Supporting the manks is dirty business pigeon, necessary I now know, having read Lain’s stuff above, but dirty none the less. And if you’re in your morgue you can sit in a coffin and nod away, and take your dignified sips of a beer if that’s what pleasures you pigeon, but that sh*t’s not for me! I’ll be lashing out with both feet at every ball, cursing and yelling and lashing back the beer to beat the band. There’s no hiding place for me in my pub, and I’m bound to be seen doing the unthinkable...urging on, and possibly even celebrating a mank win, or maybe worse...having a moan when they’re beat! Who’d ever think things would come to this?

I want manu to win, this game leaves no room for our hatred of them to get in the way of whatever it takes to help us win the league, THIS YEAR!.
Its the closest we have been at the top for years and it may be our only chance, maybe its now or never?. We can hate them again next year. God damn it Lain, do you have to be so devastatingly correct and convincing? How can the likes of an ancient mariner like me change the deliciously spiteful habits of a lifetime, and begin to cheer on the mank’y devils? It’s more than a poor decent soul should be asked to bear! I’d rather have an albatross hung round me neck for a month! And what if my buddies should see or hear me, in such a grossly indecent act...what then? and worse Lain, I could be video’d in the act! And yet I know in my water you’re right, god damn it, yes, yes, you’re right! I’ll do it, yes! Yes! Yes! I’ll do it if it means regaining our long lost title. But be warned LiverbirdLain, and mark well my words, if this doesn’t work There’ll be repercussions!  An ancient Mariner eh? well just suck a fishermans friend Anne,Just believe,dream and go with the flow. trust me, like the weather on the high seas its in the Lap of the gods.

A most interesting thread. What it boils down to is this: Are we scumhaters coz we're Liverpool fans or vice versa? The answer is obvious, I think meaning that our love for our club should come before our hatred of them. It follows that we should be hoping for a utd win. Now THAT is very different from cheering them on as that would count as a deadly sin. Liverpool fans can keep themselves entertained meanwhile by enjoying any ill fortunes that may befall the scum (cards, injuries, etc...). In the (likely) event of the scum losing the game, Liverpool fans are encouraged to forget their initial inclinations and just enjoy another defeat for the scum. Enjoy watching.

I could never bring myself to cheer on anyone other than liverpool but i do want united to win  as sickening as that is i don't see it as cheering them on, I see it more as cheering the fact we can give ourselves a better chance at the title and them winning should have no bearing on us what so ever and it could keep the football genius employed for a while longer if they win

You have to think of the big picture here. Sure we all loathe the scum. Thing is imagine how much it will vomitize theyre bandwagon fanbase seeing Stevie G. and the boys lift the trophy on May 11. Seeing the EPL's manager of the future B.R. Lift his 1st of many trophies while they are left with Moyes the genious. Let them have their day vs City we can have our year and maybe decade starting May 11.
