Just wanted to see what everyone's thoughts are on Borini after his loan spell this year at Sunderland.
What sort of part do you think he can play for us next season? Is he good enough and should he be above the fairly unproven Aspas in the pecking order?
Or do you think we should look to offload him after a fairly impressive season (and the likes Aspas) in order to bring in another top striker in the summer?
On the face of it Borini seems to have had an impressive season at Sunderland. He's scored some important goals for them, a winner against Newcastle, another against the Magpies later on in the season and of course that goal in the Capital One Cup against Man City.
But is his record really that great? 6 goals in 29 appearances doesn't real suggest that. You could argue that he's playing in a team that creates much less chances than our side do. But in fairness a similar case was made for Aspas who is yet to show what he's capable of
Thoughts?

I think he will be a decent addition to the squad, seems like he is very much a confidence player and sunderland has given him that.

The stats don't reflect what he does on the pitch.
The games I have watched he looks electric on the flanks. He deserves another season in red. We need a bit more depth on the fringes, and he will be a handy impact player.

He looked the business, compared to the other attacking players in the Sunderland squad.

I'm not saying he is Usain Bolt, but the matches I have watched his pace and movement has been impressive. He is faster than I gave him credit for last season.

He embarrassed City's backline in the cup, left Kompany for dead, and that's not easy to do. Basically he only has Johnson to supply him right now, but I think with our players to feed him, he'd score more goals. He got opportunities last season, but he was lacking in confidence and fluffed his chances. He'd be a good impact forward. Maybe even a starter for Sturridge during CL weeks.

To be fair, I probably would too. Johnson's quality. He was absolutely wasted at City.
