Exactly Joel, no need to make wholesale changes as we only need two or three top players and we would have a complete squad! We need back up for Torres, right sided winger and maybe another defender but that would be it! I think someone like Ribery would be an awesome addition to the club as he has skill, pace and takes players on, not to mention excellent delivery into the box from wide areas. Can score goals too!! If we could get him for 15-20 million it would be great!

Seconded....

Emperor would rather get two strikers for £5M each... I personally would rather get one for £10M. (Well I'd rather get one for £50M, but reality sets in)

Agree with the Ribery thing, no way would he go for between 15-20 million, probably talking at least twice that, probably a world record fee.

why wouldn't we be going for a superstar? we're the top ranked team in Europe, big name players have been full of praise for us since Benitez took over (Eto'o with his 'we covered ourselves in the spirit of Liverpool' when they won the EC, Henry talking up the club in pretty much every interview he gives). Torres and Gerrard are amongst the highest rated players in the world. The money will be there in the summer for at least one top player and i believe we have as good a chance as any of persuading them to come here.

I'd rather Rafa busted a nut to try and get a Villa, Eto'o or Ribery (ok, that one won't happen) than settle on the mediocre like Doyle.

I would rather get 2 good players than one, money doesn't come into it,unless we are going after a superstar like villa or eto'o and we won't be

You've previously suggested two 5M strikers, instead of one 10M one.... I totally disagree!

Barry shouldn't cost more than 12 mil.
We still have money coming in for players being sold and Veronin and Leto will bring in about 4-5 mil for both of them.
We will have the champions league cash plus some of the money we recouped from Keane.
Our team doesn't need a major make-over-we only need 2 or 3 quality players coming in.

I have no knowledge from within Anfield at all but i can fairly confidently state that even if (when?) he does sign Gareth Barry will definitely NOT be the biggest signing of the summer.

After players have been sold, according to people like Tony Barrett and Dave Usher who are pretty close to the club Liverpool will have between 45-50 million to spend, Barry will cost around a quarter of that.

seeing Villa will probably not get 4th after the weekend's result Barry will be wanting to leave in order to play in the CL and MON will never get last year's asking price for him now.

all depends who rafa sells - when you think both agger and alonso may be moving on (hope not) if Madrid and the like are willing to pay massive sums that should pave the way for some big signings and if hic-up and giblet put some dosh in the pot too as they have promised... also what about Babel - will the gooners pay handsomely for him?

I can see why Rafa wants Barry and agree that he offers different things from Alonso and Mascherano. Barry is a solid typical English player, strong in the tackle and hardworking. the boy has goals in him and offers flexibility. I'd say no more than 8 million is a good price.

Lennon offers us speed on the wings but i fear he will receive a "Lucas-like" backlash if he does not deliver. He has never been a good crosser and i dont think he will be. Let's offer 10 million + Babel for Walcott to tempt Wenger

I'd expect a right winger, a defender and a striker to arrive this summer.

Walcott could be available for little or nothing. If he doesn't sign a contract by the summer he'll be available for a tribunal-set fee.

Obafemi Martins would be a good signing IMO. And he'll be cheap because Newcastle will be desperate to sell. I'd rather see us go for Lavezzi from Napoli but i think Rafa will stick with Gerrard and Torres next season.

A rightback is a definite need IMO. Douglas Maicon would be my preferred choice but he may not be available.

Worth adding that Walcott is a MASSIVE Liverpool fan and a word in his ear from Gerrard at the next England get together could convince him to hold out on signing a contract at Arsenal.

Walcott this year, Ashley Young next year.
