I think top clubs should refuse to release players for it. I mean, they're talking of Jan to Mar so the EPL will probably finish in August after having a break just in time to start again. I just don't see how it can be workable!
With any luck, FIFA will have a reshuffle before then and sense will prevail but I very much doubt it.
Absolutely stinks of VERY dodgy goings on this. FIFA urgently need investigating, and they can piggin' well do the sweet FA while they're at it. All the same pigs snufflin' round in the same pit of swill, utter corrupt bent bass turds the lot of 'em.
totally agree mate, but who'll be doing the investigating? there's no one higher up than fifa in the rankings so they do not have to answer to anyone. same as our fecking referees
personally it will never happen but UEFA should pull out of FIFA and set up an alternative world football body , with the massive pulling power of the major european leagues i think its a no brainer , and start playing world cups in footballing nations .
And look at some of the countries these high ranking FIFA officials come from?
Jamaica FFS where their guy Jack Warner I think it was appeared on a Panorama programme a few years back regarding dodgy ticket dealings for tournaments or money for votes or something equally dodgy. And he kept his post!
Yes it all stinks. It is a summer world cup and always has been. It interferes with no major leagues in the world in June.
Hold it in Nov/Dec or Jan and it interferes with all major leagues not to mention programming of other events such as CL or European Championships Qualifiers.
They should take it away from them now. Give back the money they was all bunged to vote them in to have it and make the disgraced officials resign. And there must be some corruption somewhere.
