So who do you want instead of Rodgers then Flames??

Who do you think can do better with what Rodgers has.

We have lost to the two teams who will be competing for the league this season and have improved considerably on last season.

Why does everyone neg out on here after a defeat..........

He won't say as there is no one available that would work under the constraints that he has.

Hey Flames, unlike some on here, I am not gonna have a go at you because I respect your views, although we disagree on BR. I think you have put your argument across in a decent and respectful manner and I don't see any baiting or anything like that intended.

Allow me to explain why I disagree. I actually think BR is a good manager, a very good one might I add, that's my opinion. I think he identified some very very good players in the last window and that we were unfortunate Mkhytaryan and Costa turned us down, the funds were available. Br has adapted his tactics on several occasions this season to get us playing to our maximum. He has brought out the best in several players.

You say, BR bottles it against the big boys, and doesn't have the mental ability to cope with the bpressure in the big games. I disagree, losing these 2 games 2-1 away to such strong and rich teams is not a catastrophe or a sign of weakness from BR. We didn't get thrashed, we put in good solid shifts and I believe it was the lack of quality coming off the bench that cost us, rather than BR's ability as a manager.

Had you posted this last season, when we were up by 2 against both arsenal and city and then threw away those leads, I would agree, it was due to negative tactics and caving to the pressure. However, this season we haven't been guilty of that.

I said on several occassions last season that my biggest problem with BR wa that once we had a 1 or 2 goal lead, he would quickly get us to sit back and allow the opposition to have a go. That was not the case in the last two games, nor has it been this season. We have always been pushing forward for a 2nd, 3rd,4th,5th...we have gone for the jugular, repeatedly and with a vengeance.

I believe BR has learnt a lot along the way and still has more to learn, but I believe it is a fantastic thing that we got him when we did and I hope he stays for a long time to come.

Anyway, with some additions in January, I feel, it will not have been a false dawn. I still believe we can make not only top 4, but top 3. I await the end of the season and we can discuss this again then. Would you be satisfied with a top 4 finish this season or not?

like i said, im not a managerial scout, just a fan. but i would start with someone who has experience.

KP i know what belief looks like in a team. we won the CL on belief alone in 2005, and none of the desire that was evident during that campaign is evident in our current squad.

My expectations were for fourth place we are still in with a shout but I think it's united we will have to beat for that and we have a head start on them. But it's looking uneasy.

No way should we sack Rodgers we would have to be mad

i would definitely be happy with a top 4 finish. and i would agree that rodgers has improved in some aspects, but there are things that i believe are evident in him as a manager that mean that (and i have said this before) he may get us some of the way, but he wont be the man to take us all the way.

Putting it all down to BR's mentality, or lack of, is just a juvenile and spiteful argument. It shows more who you are - than any sort of wisdom about the game. ALL managers make bad purchases - the transfer market is a complete lottery. The likes of Borini and Aspas were not massive gambles - and Sturridge, Coutinho, Sakho, Toure, even Luis Alberto will turn out to be shrewd buys. Sterling seems to be well coached - as have one or two other youngsters like Flanno. Yes, the squad is threadbare - but the owners don't seem to sanction too many 30-40 mil transfers to let us keep pace with Man City and Chelsea - so BR has to make-do mostly by shopping in the bargain bins.

As for wanting a "real manager" - you are just so full of hyperbole and twaddle all the time it's almost a waste of breath trying to debate you. Lots of "real" managers have come to the prem with impressive CVs and failed miserably. By "real manager" you either mean someone impossible to get - or some flavour of the month that is arguably no improvement on what we've got. It's just a silly, empty statement - you never have suggestions, ideas or names - just hollow criticisms that have no depth of rationality. Claiming to have uncoded BR's "pattern" like you have cracked some medieval code is just more posturing. You desperately want BR to fail for some unknown reason - and that's all there is to it.

Try to peddle your wisdom all you want - I for one ain't buying. This is about as good as anyone can expect given how far our squad is behind our main rivals - and given the level of player investment. We're in a good position to build on a surprising start - but it will be up to FSG more than BR whether we do or not.
