Wigan are a better side than us ? Oh woe is me, I hang my head in shame, and I don't quite know when the shock of it all will leave us.
Where to from here ?

Wigan Chairman Dave Whelan says he feels for Liverpool supporters with the way things are at Anfield at the moment.

Reds boss Rafa Benitez hasn't been backed fully by the club's owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks and this season's form has left supporters with little to smile about.

Whelan said: "The big sympathy I have is for the Liverpool supporters because they are a fantastic lot.

"Liverpool are in a mess. The owners, being American, I don't think they feel what we feel. I'm really, really sorry for their supporters."

He added: "We went to Anfield earlier in the season and there's absolutely no atmosphere and no heart at all at present.

"The supporters feel that and I think the players are starting to feel it."

Dave Whelan is right - the root of our problems start with the owners.

Sorry emp, but I don't agree with your own and many other similar comments from others that "Rafa is destroying everything"!

Since Rafa and the players are the frontline reps of our damaged club, it is easy for us to take out our anger on them.

If a new manager comes in, we still have the same problem with the owners, no money to buy in decent players, and the new manager will have to make do with the players he has.

The owners need to go first, get rid of the debt and put in place plans and money for a new stadium. If the owners are gone and Rafa and the majority of players are still at the club then I will be prepared to support them all again.

To rebuild the club from scratch properly and start over again will take at least 5 years, if new owners come in at the end of the season why not give Rafa another year or 2?

More fool me you say!

We all know the Yanks are the root of the problem, but that doesn't excuse Rafa's negative tactics, peculiar team selections and hit and miss transfer record.

Benitez is the man on the front line. He has the tools at his disposal but prefers to pick talentless workhorses over gifted, match winning players. There is no sane reason to continue with the turgid don't lose tactics. 4th is virtually gone so we may as well at least try to play like we give a sh1t.

Who knows, we may actually win a few.

sorry redballs but i disagree

yes to new owners but that doesn't excuse the bad performances. I mean i am sure i could get a team together at work that would put more effort in then the performance on Monday.

I am sick and tired of people using the owners as the cause behind everything because they are not. They are a big reason but not all the reason. Rafa has to take blame as well, as its clear he doesn't know how to fix the issue.
