The original post wanted an explanation.

Here's one we are owned by a speculator who has no interst whatsoever in the club from a sporting respective just what the club can be eventually sold on for at a profit. In the meantime the club will be given just enough funds to hold us at about where we are. To try to qualify for the champions league would be too expensive with no guarantee you would achieve it.

So get used to it

I think your expectations from an owner is unrealistic. Every owner of any company in the world want to grow their brand as much as possible, so the return they receive will be higher. What's wrong with that?

It's in FSG best interest for us to be successful.

You are right but it will depend on how much they need to spend to make us successful. Absolute figures to investors does not mean much, it is the return of investment that counts.

Exactly as Vish says return on investment and FSG may calculate league title or even champions league will not meet their risk / return threshold especially with spurs strengthening. Look at this season Liverpool finished seventh went out of both cups early on but anfield a sell out every week and club able to increase ticket prices by ten per cent

From FSGs point of view why change anything?

I think they will need to change something because I am not sure that the sell out will stay if we continue to perform like that + they will not be able to negotiate top sponsorship deals. They are still benefiting from past glories, but not for very long, I can only hope they understand this.
