Can you explain it to me marko ? I don't always agree with your views but I can understand what you say

I have no interest in doing that Stan. It is clear as daylight. If you can't understand what he is saying, I am sorry, but I don't have the time or willpower to translate from english to english to you. Pull out your theasaurus and get reading if you want to understand, but I suspect you don't, which is where the problem seems to be. IMO

I have read and understand his posts Marko although he does use very unusual expressions. My understanding is get value for money out of transfers and FSG and Rodgers do a good job.

Is that it ?

Yes or no ?

NO. That is not a strategy, that is a pre-requisite for any football club. You should know that.

Let's see how it goes. In any case, you have the advantage of being happy to see FSG implementing their plan

The only option i have is to look at how things are improving over a shorter time span, I would feel we are on track for top 4 this season if we get more than 10 pts in the first 5 games.

Nobody knows for certain how far the strategy will go. I think it has potential to get us back into contention for the top 4 very soon, and won't know how much further it will get us until we break into there. I don't agree there is a perfect key that fits the lock. I think strategies adapt and I expect changes may be made as and when they become obvious ways of improving progression.

I get that you think we need money, but because we don't have that kind of money anywhere near in the future, I'm not going to bemoan the fact that it would help. It obviously would help quicken the process.

I get that you don't think we'll be champions in the next 10 years, but why state it as though it is fact?! It is far from definitive. I'm not saying we will, and I think too much emphasis is being placed on winning, and less being based on putting ourselves in contention. Competing for the title regularly is much better than winning it once and potentially falling back again. That is what FSG have said; that they want to put the club in the position to compete regularly.

I am happy with the progression this summer, even if I hope we still see more incomings. One moment the club appears to be making huge progress, the next we're missing targets. I would just like to see 3 good players come in by the end of the window and I'll be very content.

SO short-term target but I understand the want to have 10 points. I make that another 2 wins, a draw and a loss... Is that wins against Villa and Southampton, draw against Swansea and a loss to Utd..? I guess 10 points comes from mapping out the games, no?

That is one player. Every manager makes mistakes. Even one of the very best. But the ratio of good to bad was most certainly "out of the red and into the black." More good signings than bad...

Shankly was backed big time by his board. Peanuts these days but relative to the other teams it was big money. We're FSG in charge Liverpool would probably never have got out of division two .

I never stated it as a fact, read my post well, I said 'I feel' . I also said more than 10 pts, that is 3 wins and 2 draws or better. I thought win against Stoke, Villa and Southampton and 2 draws. Now if we can beat United with Moyes still having to find his mark as BR last year, so much the better.

but since the epl has been going no team has won the title using all of those methods!= buying young cheap potential, lowering the salaries we pay to players as well as

not paying the going rate for top quality players and not being prepared to to spend a few mil more to secure a target they obviously want and need or why bother bidding? not paying the going rate is the same as undervaluing the player as he is eventually sold for a higher price!

there is more grounds to believe that it wont work as history of the epl doesn't lie and you can't not put a spin on it, it is what it is!

add to that the other clubs in the top 4 are employing the proven method of staying there buy buying top quality players paying top draw salaries and going the extra mile to get the players they want!

now if everyone was doing what fsg was doing i would be more inclined to say it would work! but there not! so to the players we are interested in signing we are a low draw card which is evident by the miki, costa, willian, bernard type players either re signing with their existing clubs or going to a club that offer either or all of more money, top flight competition!

having a policy on young potential is very interesting in this scenario as realistically that is the only type of players that will give us a go with low pay and no CL situation so perhaps FSG have planned it this way all along i dont know nobody does!

two things are for sure though epl history is a fact! and not enough top quality players means you struggle to get into and stay a top four club hence i am leaning more to the history scenario than the FSG one! the fsg bet is a long odds at best or in football terms wishful thinking! we have had 3 years of this now with probably our worst league standings in the last ten years,

football's golden fleece is the title! are we aiming for it? not in my books look at our recruits! have we looked like getting closer to it since fsg NO! will we have the same problem this year lack of quality in depth? it's looking that way.

processional sport is about winning the ultimate goal putting everything you have at your disposal towards that end! are we doing that? the team try's hard and when in form we can knock on the door, but form can be lost class is permanent and that's what we need more of class and class costs more money!

fsg have more money but choose not to spend it on class anyway there trying the buck shot method buy enough young potentials and one or two will prove themselves, but if were not in the top four and competing at the highest level when they reach full potential they will leave! we know that it always happens! unless your a home grown lad who supported the team all his life

other than that they will walk and deciding not to walk decisions can cost players the accolades they should of had given the talent they had that's why it does not happen often! and that's why potentials who turn into real talent go where there light can shine the brightest! and i don't blame them!

its about being competitive, being the best! achieving accolades, creating history that's what drives them and good luck to them and if we want those sort of players we have to provide the vehicle to get them there, are we doing that not now! we did in the seventies and eighties! but sadly no longer do i want those days back you bet your b1oody life i do

I agree with you, buy then some will say, it can be done otherwise as Arsenal have always been in top 4 despite spending less than us, or United has won the league by spending less than City and Chelsea.

I think you can over acheive as United did according to me last year, but then there is a limit of over acheivement even if anything and everything is possible.

In any case, we do not have very much of a choice, LFC belongs to FSG and they call the shots. We can do only a few things if we are not happy, complain to make our voices heard, send a message to FSG by cutting our expenditure on the club or just hope they know what they are doing despite 3 years of crap.
