I think its for about the £ than anything and making us an even bigger brand, expanding our name. There is no doubt that we will be leaving the far east with more fans and alot more shirt sales.
As well as getting our fitness up abit (them countrys are hot!), giving the new lads a run out and also winning no matter who its against wont do our confidence any harm going into our first prem fixture. and this world wide fan base and shirt sales has benefited us how again in the league over the last few years.

LOL well played.
But Mick i think what these tour games do bring is alot of revenue to the area we come to, i mean the game in Melbourne generated 10 million dollars off the clubs name alone and that was before we even left England. Think of the places in Africa, Indonesia etc that we've helped just by showing up. And i do agree about the opposition we would be much better off playing pre-season games against Championship and League 1 opposition, but that doesn't generate as much cash for the owners does it
No,this is not a good town for psychedelic drugs.Reality itself is too twisted.

Just say we have a terrible start due to not having the right preparation is it any consolation that we made X amount of money from playing games in far flung corners of the world and made this so called worldwide fanbase happy.

Well to be fair all clubs are concentrating on getting fit now and you dont need to stay in 1 place to do that, ok the opposition are useless the best of times but its about the players getting a run out and if by doing that we can rake in 10 - 25 million for it and give some fans at the other side of the world a once in a lifetime chance to see the Reds in action, then were not going to far wrong. I'd be more worried if we weren't going abroad and there was no interest because right now thats about the only difference between us, Everton, West Brom, Swansea etc. we still have the worldwide name we can milk and hopefully use that as a platform to build. Oh and in Indonesia the club is rumoured to take in 9 million later in the year, and 13 million from Australia rumoured also, so you can see how its hard to turn down. Just my spin on it anyway

Aside for the money it generates, both for us and for the area there, it does things for fitness that training in England doesn't. Training in the humidity and high altitude gets you fitter faster. Plus the feeling of playing in front of 90 thousand people would be great experience for some of the younger players. I thought the tour was going very well.
