You think our chances of top 4 are the same as WBA and Fulham's? I would put us all in the same bracket as in chances highly remote to say the least, Everton in the bracket too, Spurs a bit better but again unlikely.

OK, I am glad you said that...Now take a look at what the professionals think and then tell me whether you think you were close... You see, the pro's have us at equal odds compared to spurs at 3 to 1, Everton are at 21 to 1, West Brom are at 101 to 1 and Fulham at 126 to 1.So, do you feel your assesment is fair? Or are you perhaps just trying to belittle the clubs chances and quality?

And while I am at it, allow me o show you something else... These are for a top 6 finish...notice the difference in odds for Liverpool and Everton...Now tell em that we aren't a better team. Anyway, are you gonna say something this time to substantiate your posts or you gonna keep quiet like you did when I asked you if you have heard of Falcao, Zuniga,Martinez, Armero etc, after you claimed the likes of Sunderland could beat them?

I think Downing is absolute garbage like everybody else I know in Liverpool however in tonights Echo there is a pic of somebody from the far east holding up a banner pleading for him to stay, so you see people make there judgements using different criteria and methods. If you think we have a chance of fourth place and the players we have are good enough then good on you, you listen to your experts its your decision.

Yes well you see, it's no so much what kind of evidence you take on board, it's whether you take evidence on board. What you seem to be doing is looking at a crystal ball or a magic 8 ball, what the bookies and pundits are doing is looking at evidence.
These people are not in the business of losing money, rather they are in the business of making money, so they know their stuff.
Now, I am educated and self confident enough to admit, that there are matters, many matters on which others know a lot more than I do. It doesnt make me weak or less self confident, it makes me smart, because only a folish man could believe he knows everything about everything and that he is the best at everything.
SO yes, I believe that in general, the bookies know their stuff, and whilst they may tamper with odds a bit, in general, they get things right, otherwise they would be losing money. BUt hey, if you really believe that Fulham and WBA have the same chaces as us to finish top 4 or top 6, and that everton are better, you go on and believe that.

have to disagree there the bookies dont always know there stuff, I know for a fact that when bookies work out odds for Liverpool they take onboard the hit they will take if theygive fair odds so they delibrately give Liverpool worse odds than they should really get. Its because Liverpool are sucha popular Club and they know Liverpool fans will always bet on them so its too much of a risk to give fair odds. Look at this season, Liverpool last season finished 7th while Everton finished about 4 points ahead in 6th not much in the two clubs whatsoever, player for player nothing in it either, signings Well we have bought a few untried players but no Ronaldo or Messi types which are going to major transform us, this season we may finish above Everton by a few points maybe they will finish above us, whatever happens it will be nip and tuck again. Now to my point, a leading bookmaker makes Liverpool 33/1 to win the league, same as Spurs yet the very next team in odds to us is Everton and there price id 500/1 how on earth can this be possible, its because the bookies cant afford to take a hit if the unthinkable happend and we won the league, So you see putting your faith in bookmakers is a load of nonesense, I will stick to my eyes and experience thank you very much when it comes to judging.

But would the bookies not apply that same logic to all clubs? Would thet not shorten spurs odds as well? I think you may have overlooked that fact. Also i agree they do shorten odds, but they do it for all clubs and furthermore, they dont shorten the odds seven fold. Its not like we have the same chance as Everton but our odds were shortened seven fold, or 35 fold compared to WBA...its obvious that they believe we have a much better chance than those clubs.

They don't have to worry about the odds on the likes of Spurs because only teams fans would really have an outside bet on and as Spurs don't have as many fans the hit the bookies took would not be nearly as bad as if Liverpool at proper, realistic fair odds would hit them so they delibrately keep the odds down.
